There were a few very interesting projects with it published in the german magazines hobby hifi and klang & ton. Sometimes the driver was modified with an extra magnet. Worth checking out.

Fyi you can buy the klang und ton magazine pdfs from the magazine website for a few euros, for the complete plan and filter topology and measurements etc.
Search online "Fostex double bass reflex speaker enclosure". Basically it's a bass reflex enclosure with a partition in the middle with a 7x7 inch hole in it to create the "double" enclosure. Bass output is said to be impressive for a single full range driver.
There's also a Hornflex enclosure in Onken style with the BG-20, made by a guy in the Klang and Ton Forum...🙂.

Lots of options in here (plus some admirable patience by a number of longstanding forum members) TL-box for BG20 Visaton
fwiw - I thought it was decent in my "fake Druid" pipe (34-35 liter) and better there than a Karlson K12. (BG20 has been used in GregB's "Karlsonator8" and measured nicely there) The Druid pipe puts the driver up high - vent at floor.

seems odd to me that Klang & Ton haven't presented any Karlson couplers (I do remember some sort of T-line which may have been related)

I am playing with a simulation software and I want to build an open baffle using 15" PA bass driver and maybe a Visaton BG20.
I saw on the internet, many suggest to cut the whizzer or damping it.
But, I thing that better aproach is to leave the whizzer because not to loose higher tones, and to put phase plug like one from planet audio.
Do you have a expirience with this approach for this driver? original whizzer+ phase plug on BG20
