Fane Studio 5M+5FR - in use by which commercial Studio Monitors ??

I want to know some models and manufacturers of loudspeakers, where this driver is in use. I choice the 5M driver in several diy satellite loudspeaker projects several years ago in small sizes (together with Focal TC90K or TC120K). Amazing to me is, that this driver provides excellent audible results in the "full-range" mode after performing a equalizer network for the midrange. After looking of the frequency response this isn't to expect.

This driver was temporarily no longer available. Now Fane (actually Precision Devices) has re-introduce the Studio 5M.

And for the Studio 5FR there is now a kevlar successor available, the Studio 5FRK - go to

The only commercial (in the meantime vintage) monitor was the "E1" from d&b Audiotechnik - go to
the third attachment.

Who knows, in which additional commercial loudspeaker products like studio monitors and small near field monitirs the 5M and the 5FR was in use - best thanks for your advices.

I too am interested in this full range Fane speaker. I have four units which were aquired from a 'Dynamix' PA speaker. These old cabinets used 6 units each and can still be found in the UK and other areas in the second hand markets, if you are lucky.
I have managed to order 4 replacement recone kits from Fane, (surround, coil, rear suspension etc), but this had to be specially ordered as Fane felt a duty to make their old products servicable.Nice.
I would be most interested to see your mid-range modification, if you feel like sharing it.
I agree; this little unit holds great promise.
My intended use is for a single driver satellite speaker, possibly with a small tweeter added for the highest octaves.

The brand name "DYNAMIX" I have never heard before and isn't easy to find. But I have found interesting models - go to the attachments.
Which other commercial brands equipped with FANE Studio 5M/Studio 5FR (and Studio 8) was on the marked?

I currently have a pair of the Fane 5fr available if you are interested? They are in working order but by no means perfect condition. The cones , dust cap, chassis are all good. However the rubber surrounds look less than good ; they are however intact and still work as a surround with no holes. As such they would be priced accordingly. You might like photos if interested? It would be a great way to get hold of a pair to experiment with.

unfortunately I overlooked this post. Please upload photos, I'll forward them to a friend who may want and purchase them.
There are some devices of faulty Studio 5M - replacing of the foam speaker surround resp. suspension is necessary.
Therefore I am looking for a company, who can replace this part include all necessary maintenance work.
There are many companies for that, but I want to know such a company
who specialize in this brand and model.

Hi, apologies for my late arrival.
Dynamix also used a Celestion 135mm full range driver, with a similar response to the Fane 5fr.
Here is a link to a current auction here in the UK with such drive units employed.
I have a pair of these.
I also now have the PA cabinet's with 6 of the Fane 5fr's in each. They have a processor eq box that compliments them.
Pictures will be forthcoming. They are stored in my grannies garage (!)
Dynamix went out of business in the a couple of decades or so ago. They always used good quality components.

In the moment I am looking for a FANE 5FR for a floor standing speaker of German's Brand "Flo-Horns" - unfortunately not listed under

This is equipped with a 5' from Celestion. Maybe a good replacement for the Fane STUDIO 5FR in general. Who know the model name of this Celestion driver ?
