Didn't realize this driver was announced last year. It models well in reasonably sized enclosures given it's size. If it becomes available (couldn't find one anywhere for sale) at a reasonable price to DIY'ers, this will most likely become a contender for those considering the IPAL 21 or the Eminence NSW6021.
A very high Fs for such a large driver, is this going to be used in a tiny tight box below Fs like the Clarion 36"?
Design goals are not the same for professional audio as compared to home/car audio. There is actually very little music content below 30Hz so a lot of pro audio subs tend to land right around 30Hz Fs. This is a good design tradeoff which allows for more output while also allowing for a smaller enclosure. Touring rigs have to be moved around by truck so space is at a premium. Extra trucks means extra drivers, extra road crew, extra fuel costs, extra insurance costs, etc, etc. The equipment has to be designed around these constraints.
I'm no nightclubber but I used to work in such venues from time to time and I'm pretty sure that the Trance parties at one venue had bass lines sitting around 16Hz. Obviously a fixed installation and not mobile at all. This is the same venue that blew the whole sound system the time CDs were introduced if any Aussies remember the Inflation night club in King Street Melbourne and the old Melbourne Metro Night Club

I was always quite interested by the far more conservative sound system used by "The Grain Store" just down the hill a bit.
They seemed to go about things in 'a less deafening way'. [ more off-stage musicians amps and PA mainly for vocals ]

Interesting addition, but I would not cheer for ultra large displacements. Given the provided figures, this thing will be eating about 1kW of power just to get to Xmax. Given that real power capacity for this driver will be about 500W, I find it less than ideal for full utilisation.

Xmax and xmech are about the same. It would be really easy to either smash this driver, or at the least get really dirty sounds from it.
