Somewhere on his site I know he has a guide for how he do them..... I never understood how TG made rebates like these with his table saw ?! Didn't find his pictures to be helpefull !
yeah with a cisel.
Here a guy from Singapor showed also a very good technic with a aviator loudspeaker clone. He just stacked layers with different width on the higher half part, the widther towards the cabinet and the lesser width towards the front baffle (with 4 layers iirc). Then with automotive plastic he made the rebates filling the steps to shape the rebate. Clever too.

I think he use a table saw. Scroll trough his tips and ideas and you find the guide. http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/tips.htm
Oh yeah, he is using that too, very skilly he is. Let me try to find th thread I talked about the Aviator here...
Ah sorry, it was the Rockport Avior (Aviator loudspeaker is a Chario brand one).

I think yours is as more elegant. Very beautifull and looks good in your very nice living room.
I am jealous of your wood skills guys. The main brake to me to avoid monkey coffins I am fed up with.
A real keeper than your loudspeaker. 🙂

Hello everyone. I have collected all the parts for Revelator-851 and will start building it soon. In terms of design, I am thinking of making it all Birch ply or lacquered on the front and solid on the rest. I am currently using Q Acoustics Concept 40 with Pi4+Volumio streamer, Pass F5 clone and BA-3 pre. Although the bass is lacking, I am happy with the tonal balance and stage. I can't wait to listen to Revelator-851.
Put the saw at 45°..... I never understood how TG made rebates like these with his table saw ?! Didn't find his pictures to be helpefull !
And then tilt the edge of the front plate let say 5 or 10° on the table and you are done.
The front plate will advance in "crabe" and will do those rebate.
I didn't know much about speaker design when choosing which model to build to be honest so I went with Troels own favorite design in the smaller floorstand category. Also the Rev851 is a speaker Scanspeak use at several shows to demo their drivers.
When I built the speakers I went with the cheaper soft dome tweeter but I recently upgraded to the new TPCD tweeter and it is noticeable better in my opinion and well worth the extra cost. It is more resolving and enhance the realism with hearing more inner details. So of you go with building this model I recommend TPCD tweeter. Troels say that it is just as good as the berrylium tweeter but not as expensive.

I'll see what I can do. I have two twins girls just under two years old so not much time home alone to do a video but when I can I can record a short video.
Recorded a short video with the new tweeters. Recorded with my phone though so take it for what it is. You won't get the real experience with this kind of recording but perhaps a hint.Looks awesome! And thanks for the info.
I just remembered, I actually recognize that rack in the back 😂, I've watched your videos on youtube before. Any chance you'll post a new demo with the new tweeter? I would love to hear that 🙏
