Building the Ellam FLEX by Troels Gravesen

The crossover design specifies 800V DC polypropylene capacitors. I’ve sourced Mundorf 400V DC polypropylene caps with the same µF values as shown in the schematic. Could this pose any risk to the drivers or the amplifier?

A 400 volt rating is still way more than you actually need in a crossover for home audio. It's not unknown to find (bipolar) crossover caps with a 50 volt DC rating.

PS Welcome! If you have other questions about your build the multi-way forum is the place to try.

Didn't notice earlier that this thread is in the "Introductions" section of diyAudio. 🙂

davidjack, welcome to the forum, and good luck with your build. Look forward to updates as you progress. Please feel free to start a build thread on the "Multiway" section when you are ready.
