I suspect you won't see any light scratches when the screen is illuminated. You'll likely only see the scratches when it's turned off and only at certain angles where the light reflects just so.
Additionally, you might be able to polish out light scratches from polycarbonate or acrylic using the correct polish and technique, however it's probably not worth the effort. I bet it's just fine as is.

I would like to add the remote control to my Iron Pumpkin - waiting for a reply from my OmniDealer, I hope he reads his emails, sooner or later

^ Is this so you never have to leave the comfiest chair in the listening room?

You caught me...
But... apparently your friend is also building an IP with RC... just like you...
Coincidences do happen...

ZM Omni was today in Capitol, attempt of at least 400.000 attendees to topple Psycho and Mafia, recipe by Gandi, execution/main force brilliant students ........that being phenomena per se, worth several thick multi-disciplinary books
ZM tired, almost no sleep night before, 100miles in car, then at least 15 miles on foot (town, at least third of that mingling in never seen packed crowd)
then 100 miles back
ok, not writing more, don't want my own Big Cal Mod to have dealing with me, regarding politics
edit: I am personally interested and willing, but main reason today was to be there for Kido and her boyfriend, if needed

I think many people like you a lot for what you are doing for our diy community. And now they like you even more
There are some things that are far more important than anything else.ZM Omni was today in Capitol, attempt of at least 400.000 attendees to topple Psycho and Mafia, recipe by Gandi, execution/main force brilliant students ........that being phenomena per se, worth several thick multi-disciplinary books

Hats off, I'm glad to know you - even if only virtually

I wasn’t aware of this but here’s a YouTube video talking about all this for those interested.ZM Omni was today in Capitol, attempt of at least 400.000 attendees to topple Psycho and Mafia, recipe by Gandi, execution/main force brilliant students ........that being phenomena per se, worth several thick multi-disciplinary books

OK, trouble is trouble, but said enough, don't go against Forum rules

So here’s another dilemma.
I think my older Turtle is built with the cable header reversed from what I am seeing in build pics of newer motherboard style Iron Pumpkins.
The newer style has the header on both the Logic board and the Turtle marked with”Red” at what I am assuming is the #1 pin? (See first pic)…and the ribbon cable has its color stripe (blue in this case) on the same side of the case.
My Turtle only has its header marked with a number “1” and it is in the opposite side of the case from the “Red” marking on my logic board (see second pic).
If I’m interpreting this correctly, and the number “1” position on the Turtle header equates to the “Red” position on the Logic header than I have no choice but to try and twist the wide ribbon cable to connect the two headers properly?
I have two ribbon cables. The original I got when I purchased the kit without Logic control and the one I got with the Logic control I just received. (See pic)
They are assembled differently, but neither can connect the two headers with the “1” on the Turtle board and the “Red” on the Logic board without twisting the cable.
Here’s a wide shot…still trying to figure out how it will all fit.

as it needs to be, no flat cable twist, so
let's say that red-blue strip on cable is on right side of tft pcb when pcb is mounted on front (yeah, red title on pcb)
stripe needs to be on right side of turtle connector, as Turtle mounted in case
now, you have old series turtle, made in time when logic wasn't even planned, so IDC connector is having notch on wrong side for your new cable
all you need to have it as needed - just shave/file tooth on cable connector at turtle side and you have it

No doubt a few of you will be celebrating St Patty’s day today with a few pints.
It’s a good thing I don’t indulge…especially considering my task this morning.
In my mind it will be remembered as the day of the Turtle Diode Massacre 😱
For those that might be interested in performing a Logic Control upgrade, all those little critters need to be removed from the Turtle PCB (and some diodes and other parts on the Pumpkin boards if you mounted them).
I’m building a single ended version…I don’t envy those attempting this modification on a balanced version if they have to remove twice as many diodes on stacked boards!
None of my wire cutters were able to reach in and do the job properly. After some head scratching I remembered I had bought a nice pair of offset cuticle trimmers not that long ago. So I ran upstairs and raided the medicine closet. They were just barely able to do the job.
More than one diode ricocheted off my forehead and glasses, so you might want to wear some safety glasses!
There were a few moments of panic when the cutters got tangled up on some of the delicate enameled wires…so I had to move slowly and be very cautious.
I also had to resort to clipping one leg on a few diodes and then just grabbing them with tweezers and bending them back and forth to break the other leg off.
Anyway, it’s done…on to another task.

Aren't these diode there for protecting (installed as flyback diodes against back EMF)?
Just curious
Do

MZM said lose them…I listen and obey 😉
He’ll know all the technical Mumbo Jumbo and no doubt chime in.

in general redundant with Logic, I used darlington arrays ULN2803 as low side switches, and they have implemented flyback diodes
besides, switch-only Turtles were made with negative common relay PSU, while later ones (both switch and logic applicable) are having positive common relay PSU
so, diodes on switch-only Turtle are soldered in wrong polarity for logic governor, so can't be used/they must be removed
Well, that's exactly what I plan to do, with my balanced version... so it means much work... 😱No doubt a few of you will be celebrating St Patty’s day today with a few pints.
