In Hong Kong on the way to the airport. I saw a couple of gentlemen welding on the stump of a light post with a similar improvised reactor clamped into the circuit, and it was about as ugly as the one depicted in post 4758. I'm not sure whether they were using protective gloves or not, but given the circumstances, likely not...

It's a sheet to assess room geometry, walls layout and power specification of the amplifier. By 1980, amp power might have reflected something about the available budget of the potential buyer, and also something about the choice of eventually matching speakers. Quite simple and elaborate, I find. And not funny, but rather a serious approach by then.
