Hello guys! I have an idea to build my own tape recorder (for home). I will use tape from cassettes only with a playback head for two channels (stereo). The output from the tape recorder is only for headphones (or for speakers). I need to find circuits for an amplifier (to get a relatively clean sound/color the sound and amplify it for comfortable listening) and good motors for pulling the tape. I am ready to consider ready-made solutions for this (in terms of ordering from Aliexpress and simply connecting them together inside the device).The tape pulling diagram is attached. Thanks.
If you have ever looked inside a tape deck, you will have noticed that the mechanics is a bunch of precision manufactured components. Unless you own a precision metal works factory, there is no way to create something that does come even close to an 80s toy tape player.
However AliExpress has a bunch of readymade mechanisms availate, just look out for "tape mechanism".
Electronics is not that hard either. Grab a service manual from one of the thousands of tape decks and just copy the playback amplifier circuit.

Ha, yeah. In my country there are a lot of tape recorders, but all of them are of very low quality, unlike European machines. There are units that are adequately made, but they cost as much as a good Sony or Tascam.

In home appliances there is no super friction of mechanisms and given current technologies, it is possible to eliminate the greatest number of mechanical devices by replacing them with electrical ones.
