Hi everyone,
I am writing today to ask for help or ask about measuring the thiele small parameters of a stud with the LIMP software from ARTAlabs.
I have been trying to measure the thiele small parameters of my hearing aids for 1 year now, and I can't find any document, any video, anything that clearly explains how to measure them, or if it explains it well, it's out of my hands how to measure them. do it.
The method that has caught my attention the most has been LIMP, since it is to make some simple connections, and use the software, the thing is that I do not understand the connections that I have to make, and the manuals and videos are not clear neither. (in my opinion)
I've tried to make this circuit:
But the connections of the "Phone" output are not clear. I don't understand if I have to remove the right or left channel from the "Phone" output or both... And what I understand, and I can do, I don't know where to connect it on my laptop, or on my PC.
I have looked for videos that tell you how to do it, but there are only people who connect it to their external audio card, and with many cables that I don't know where they come from, since they are not in the diagram.
So, I would be very happy if someone could clearly explain to me how to measure my speakers, so I could finally move forward with my home audio system project.
Thanks in advance,
Radew.

use your pc because it has line in and line out
only one output is needed, say L out
connect Lout to Rin (ref) and also to the 100R
other side of 100R goes to Lin

I have an external USB card ( M-Audio Transit) and an additional small amplifier for measurement. I have never tried measuring like this with LIMP. As far as I know, I only have an output for headphones on my laptop, I don't have any line input, so it's not even possible.
I don't like using the internal audio card for anything but headphones. And I don't use that anymore, I took BT wireless headphones.
I think that for measuring TS parameters, something like this would be suitable for a laptop or PC. If it gets hurt in the process, it's not a big deal. Before measuring, the card should be calibrated in LIMP/ARTA

I did all that, and with the PC, but when I calibrated the system, not even the pink noise was generated, and it told me that the channels were incorrectly connected. I change the setup of the channels, from right to left, and still with the same error.use su pc porque tiene entrada y salida de línea
solo se necesita una salida, digamos L fuera
conecte Lout a Rin (ref) y también al 100R
el otro lado de 100R va a Lin
in general, you have to make adjustments to the setup of the software, plus set input/output levels etc
did you do that?
this site has lots of threads with arta in the title

Balanced Armature? Electrostatic? Bone conduction?
I dont know if T/S parameter even apply to such devices.
And likely not more than 3 or 4 companies that are leaders in production for such types.
Should be interesting to follow along
Some headphones have 2 or three different drivers much like a 2 way or 3 way speaker.
For different frequencies

I don't think he should measure the TS parameters of headphones, but to check if the headphone output is correct and working. LIMP reports an error to it.
This is my connection system. And I connect it to those inputs, from my PC.
Knowing this:
If there is any error, please let me know.

ooh yes, I was wrong, sorry. It is 100 ohms100k ohms? It should be 100ohms
Sorry, I've never used protoboards, I can't follow if everything is connected well. I usually solder everything to the raster board.

It should work. Try, as I said before, whether you can hear everything regularly on the headphones. I mean music, not LIMP.
The output works perfectly, the input I don't know how to test.It should work. Try, as I said before, whether you can hear everything regularly on the headphones. I mean music, not LIMP.
Check again channel settings in LIMP. Calibration should be done with that assembly without the speaker attached. The measurement should show 100ohms. I don't know anything else to tell you. I'm using a circuit with an external amplifier and 27ohms as a reference resistor.
the circuit shorted then?La calibración debe hacerse con ese conjunto sin el altavoz conectado
So it's the same circuit, but without connecting the speaker, nothing more?
For calibration, of course. After calibration, I connect the speaker and take the measurements, right?
