Best / most impressive DIY speaker builds on DIYAudio?

As in "technically sound / technically sophisticated". Must include measurements, at the very least frequency response, harmonic distortion, and radiation pattern - that's the very least we need to know to judge.

I'm curious, but don't feel like browsing hundreds of pages to find out. Feel free linking to build reports that you think qualify. Maybe this thread can even turn into a nice public collection.

Joe's 'Elsinore':

I would put my stand mount Monoculus coax plus woofer 3ways in that camp. I've had a great many compliments on them. They slice and dice the music and present a large portion on the plate in front of you.

They are 15 ltrs, and perform and measure very well. I feel I prefer them to the KEF equivalents.

I'll add Pida's, Peter's, and the OSMC

We should also include the venerable A26 threads including

hummmmm ! 😒

Cabinet shape as its material & design is a plain part of the whole design & sound.

Beolabs, Wilson Audio (ugly & f...g mauvais gout, but that's not the illustration here), Vivid audio, Kef Blade, Estelon, Magico, Avalon or even a simple D&D developped here with clever layout and DSP), etc !

Mancraft skill is not easy for most, I admire what people are making here to clone that, and I surmise it is not just for the looking side only. It is well talked here since a decade at least. It is great help. I wisch we had more video and skill inputs on the cabinets.

So I will add : Augerpro's study on cabinets. Great !

@hifijim's very well documented projects:
terra incognita (passive x-over 3way)
Compact low cost active 3-way
Purifi+WG
The Purifi-waveguide project has high performance, and I don't object to it being on this list. Thanks for linking @stv !

The other two I would not classify as high performance. The LCCAM was designed to be a low cost active 3-way of modest size, easy to build, with acceptable (but not excellent) levels of distortion, enough SPL capability for a mid sized room. The Terra Incognita was an excuse for me to design a passive radiator system, and to try a passive 3-way crossover. It is a good sounding speaker, and it made a fine gift to my friend, but it has some faults. These two projects are well documented, but I would not include them on a list of "Best / most impressive DIY speaker builds on DIYAudio"

me neither, speaker building is all about compromises because of the physics involved.
And I guess audio projects all try to achieve even frequency response but all project try to achieve this a bit differently and with different trade offs, limitations etc.. So what’s best for your listening situation is never what’s best universally, unless we would all have the same listening situations.
