QJ HIFI audio Store on aliexpress.com - The Aluminum Amplifier Enclosures That Never Arrived

Just a tale of woe for others to be aware of so that they don't fall into the same trap that I did.

I ordered some amplifier enclosures from QJ HIFI audio Store on aliexpress.com during the black Friday sales. They were listed with free delivery. Please see the picture below.

I ordered 1 to begin with to see if they would ship it. Then it was marked as shipped and a tracking number was provided so I assumed everything was OK. I waited until it got to my country before ordering a second one since the price was very good.

Instead of receiving the enclosures, I received absolutely nothing. In due course, the parcels were marked as delivered to somebody else in different cities. After discussions with NZ Post, they revealed that the contents of the packages were something else entirely. Not amplifier enclosures at all.

So this seller provided me with tracking information to somebody else's parcel that was also being shipped to my country. Since this happened twice with two different parcels, it was not simply a mistake made by the seller. It was intentional dishonesty.

The seller sent me a message saying that the item was shipped and everything was progressing normally. Later I received another message demanding 110 USD of additional shipping fees. I wouldn't spend another dime there, let alone provide them with another 110 USD!

I marked the items as not received and got a refund through aliexpress. But the entire experience has put me off buying anything on this site. From now on, if I do buy anything there, it'll just be stupid items like a few screws or some clamps for wires etc. Nothing substantial.

I'm not sure why you're trying to make excuses for this company or trying to blame me for buying from them? Is this blame the victim day? Are we so used to such poor service from companies that we accept all this as normal behavior?

As I said, the same thing happened on two separate orders spaced one week apart. That's not some kind of accidental administration error. It's intentional.

I believe the reason they add somebody else's tracking number is so that when refund time comes, they only have to refund the cost of the goods, not the shipping cost since the tracking shows 'something' was delivered. So they get to keep the shipping fee even though they didn't ship anything. They are up to all the tricks and aliexpress don't seem to care.

Sorry to hear about your problem, at least Ali Express refunded you. They do look like nice enclosures, but in my experience these days, the shipping is more than the enclosure cost - so free shipping would have been a red flag for me.

Thanks for the warning though.

Sorry to hear about this and thanks for putting it up here to warn us.

I haven't had any issues with Aliexpress and have bought quite a few smallish items, but I know it's only a matter of time, so I'm loathe to buy anything over about AU$50; the max I could lose without getting extremely annoyed and attacking the Chinese Embassy with a flame thrower.

In respect of the above comments, free shipping isn't so much the issue as the whole cost. A lot of sellers bump the price and give free shipping. But, I know what you mean Gary.

I work on the premise that if I have some doubts, I just move on and put it out of my mind. I don't spend too much time mulling over whether the deal is legitimate. Doubt? Pass...

I have the same experience about this store with exactly model. Tracking showed that the goods has been delivered but shipping address was completely different than what I typed on Aliexpress. File an issue on Aliexpress and get the money back, but I would never buy anything from this store again.

This is not abnormal on Aliexpress. By the way only platform, I ever experienced the same.
My experience was even worse.
Received a tracking number for a parcel that should weigh approx. 11 Kg. After 2 weeks, it was delivered, but not to me.
I started an investigation with the Danish Postal system, and finally found an employee, who dared to go to limit of the
"personal data protection". I got everything but the name. It was delivered to the correct address 2 Km from my house, and
was an envelope og 430 gram, not 11 Kg´s. With this info in hand + contact info to the postal employee, who promised to
supply all info to Aliexpress, I started a claim.
Seller provided a photo of a fake package label with my name, address and additional info with the tracking number/barcode,
as proof of delivery.... and guees what......
Aliexpress never contacted the postal employee and sided with seller, and I lost 250 US$.

Good to read you got your refund.
Maybe purchase from a company rather than obscure online packing company in future.
They may have been absolutely swamped with orders, making it difficult to match orders with tracking details.
But, no excuse in this computerised barcoded world.

Stupid and lame excuse trying to ridicule a member, who´s experince points to outright fraud.
Only God knows, what you tried to accomplish with a comment like that.

My own experience with Amazon in the US from a third party seller: Amazon notifying you that your item has shipped doesn’t mean it’s shipped, just that a shipping label was created. The progress indicator on Amazon’s website shows where Amazon thinks the item should be, not where it is, the carrier never having picked it up because the seller didn’t actually have it in stock when they created the shipping label. Got my refund, but still….

Even I did buy few months back from them and received a tracking number which while verifying showed as delivered in CA 🙂 I raised an objection to the seller and they promptly said I need to pay extra shipping charge even though the listing still says Free Shipping. I usually pay all aliexpress orders via PayPal option so raised a dispute. Not sure how but my order was not showing up on aliexpress once I raised the dispute on PP. It went on for few weeks and I had all the communications with the seller which I submitted to PP team and in a month I got my refund from aliexpress. I have blacklisted the seller but they still sell the items as "Free Shipping" which by the way is the only seller offering this to anywhere in the world. I guess thats the first alarm bells for anyone.

Sorry to hear that. It's really disappointing. So this establishes a consistent pattern of behavior. It's not some admin error, as much as we'd like to chalk it up as such.

I tried to find a complaint form on aliexpress where I could make an official complaint against this seller, but I couldn't find any. There are plenty of forms for copyright violations, but that's it. If anyone knows how to do this, please chip in and let us know.

That's going to be my philosophy from now on. Only low cost trinkets from aliexpress as a last resort if I can't find them anywhere else.

The lady who contacted me from NZ Post didn't give me any of the receivers personal details, but she did say what was declared to be in the package. Apparently it was a 'racket shiner' whatever that is! Certainly not the heavy aluminum enclosure I expected. So that dashed my hopes to receive this item. Before I heard that, I assumed that the enclosure had simply been shipped to the wrong address.

Really sorry to hear about your loss of 250 USD. That's really terrible. Stories like these should be shared more and made to go viral to force aliexpress to do something about it.
