Hello everyone. Im new here. Looking for help. Wanted to upgrade caps to new ones but there is no audible difference. Does this not make sense that caps are biger newer, maybe better built. Cant hear even little difference.
Please add more details:
- what is the device you are working on?
- where is the signal "going" through the capacitors?
- yellow ones are originals, red-brown combos are new ones?
- how are you listening for the difference - speakers, headphones, what is the source signal?
Obviously, the manufacturer went to great length in constructing this thing, and they likely chose good, suited parts. Then: These film caps do not degrade and there is no real technical advancement in that area, so the original caps might be as good as anything you could buy today,
Check the original schematics and reinstall the original part, that is IMHO the best you can do. If you want to do something for the peace of mind, you could select a cap of similar value, select by looks and price. The shown construction is is plain awful and hurts my eyes 😱
If you have awful audio output, you might want to check the non-film caps in that area, as those can go bad.

Hi Haenk
These Origonal caps are 5.0uf and the new ones are 3.9 and 0.47 It is similar. I was thinking the same. Maybe original ones are good enough. I know its hurt eyes but this is just for test. 🙂

I would think that you will not hear any audible difference from change of these capacitors (even for lytics) with your current audio chain.Same no audible difference.
Yeah - you just proved to yourself that coupling caps don’t make a damn bit of difference. So the next time someone goes to sell you snake oil, you can confidently tell them where they can go shove it.
