So here's the argument: vinyl is best, because it's really actually a physical transcription of audio. Others say CDs - they're clearer. And then reel to reel, cassette, 8 track, and those, I'm not totally sure what all the advantages are there. And now we have streaming, YouTube, Mp3, etc. I guess because it's easier.
So I'll let you take your pick in this poll. What do you think is best?

I think the best is whatever your happy with at the time.
All have their good and bad points and some of us will always in search of perfection.
Perhaps my opinion is clouded by an uncle who had a thing about cars. In my youth, He used to **** me off calling to showoff his new car, which each time just happened to be the best car on the road, till his eyes, wallet and brain went wandering again.
Funny old thing, human nature !

Vinyl for looking at artwork, CD for listening to an album, radio for company/finding new music, YouTube/Spotify for checking out the new music further to see if it's worth spending money on, cassette for recording convenience.
I have no experience on minidisk, but perhaps (if enough albums had been released on it) it should have supplanted CD.

High speed analog RtR is certainly capable of quite amazing audio quality, but check out the pricing at The Tape Project for a hint as to the format’s scarcity. At $500 USD per album, the tapes are one thing, but being custom remastered at 15ips on 1/4” 2 track tape with IEC EQ does make for an esoteric playback system - your uncle’s mint condition Sony TC377 need not apply.
