Hi,
I received an amp and 2 days after, my amp blown. The problem was that my MOSPEC BD907 was broken. So I asked my local store a replacement part, and they gave me a MJE3055t. I replace the part and my amp is still on safe mode.
I asked someone to repare it and after verification, he said that I absolutly need the same MOSPEC BD907 or my amp will always stays on sade mode.
I can't find the same part at good price on the Internet.
Someone at digikey says that this part : onsemi 2N6487G will do the job to replace my Mospec Bd907.
Can someone help me with that? I don't want to spend too much for this amp and if someone can tell me what to with that it would be appreciated.
Thank you! (Sorry for my english i'm french)

How did the damage occur? Was the power connected backwards or something? Where the speaker terminals shorted? Otherwise, if the amp is new and without user abuse then it should still be under warranty.
Do you have a DVM, and an oscilloscope?
BTW. Here is the datasheet for the part you are asking about: http://www.mospec.com.tw/pdf/power/BD905.pdf
Maybe you should replace the whole thing? It costs like $40: https://www.ebay.com/itm/226387471550

Hi,
Everything was working fine and it just stopped working.
One channel is working and the other one no. Everything was plug the right way, when the MOSPEC stopped working.
It's not under warranty and the amp you send me will cost me like 100$ with the shipping.
And yes i have DVM, and an oscilloscope.
Thank you

Quite possibly there is more damage than just the one transistor.
Troubleshooting these is difficult.
Suggest that you stop payment on your credit card and return it.

The one who looked at my amp said that it was the only problem. When one channel was completly unplugged, the safe mode was not on. And the second transitor of that same channel was working fineQuite possible there is more damage than just the one transistor.

Then why did that person not fix it for you?
There can still be other problems the way you described.
Other parts, pcb traces, etc.

Yeap... 55$ the amp and 41$ shippingShipping is $11 in the US. It costs 5x more to go over the border to Canada? Just asking.
Can't find any mospec at a reasonable price... he said that he checked it and everything work perfectly except the mospec so if someone can confirm that there is any replacement part for the mospec (because the other one i used was probably not a good replacement part for a mospec) it would be great! Then why did that person not fix it for you?

That's a part of my question.
I know that there are a lot of transitor with the same spec. But the one that my local store gave me was suppose to be replacement part for the BD907 and it did not work.
Is it possible that i really need a MOSPEC as replacement part or any transitor should work? The one who looked at my amp said that every time he changed a MOSPEC with something else, he had problems.

There's a chance.
But if there are any other problems in the circuit, which is likely, it still won't work.

Mospec is a known good second source supplier. Originals would be ST or ON, but those are often faked - and those blow up. BD907 is the EU type designation, 2N6487 is the JEDEC type designation of the same thing. MJE3055T has the same max ratings, but is typically a scraping from the bottom of the barrel.
ST isn’t making the 60V versions anymore, but is still making the 80 and 100’s. Well, they are all nominally made the same, they just grade them for voltage.
