Can I place a SB Accoustics SB16PFC25-4 in a small closed box?

I'm planning a tower speaker using the SB Acoustics SB16PFC25-4 Coax: https://loudspeakerdatabase.com/SB/SB16PFC25-4-COAX

But in order to keep the size down, I'd really like to place it in a small, closed box. It'll be paired with a capable bass woofer, and can be crossed over 500 hz (or higher).

Can I get away with a 12-15L box? The Vas 31.3, Qts is 0.31 and EBP is 102.8. Another way of asking might be: does the XO frequency mitigate that the box is that much smaller than Vas, or will it still run the risk damaging the woofer?

I think you can easily go as small as 7 liters, which is the volume for a Qtc=0.7 sealed box. Smaller than 7 liter might be possible, but I generally start use a Qtc of 0.7

The quality of the midrange might be improved with a larger box, however, so I like your concept of a 12 liter box.

I have that driver. It also works well in a small sealed box, with surprisingly strong bass. I use it in a two way bookshelf, 12"H x 9"D x 8"W. I use a 4th order crossover filter with it.

Nice. I'm looking at WinISD now and I'm thinking two circular vents close to the floor. With a 30L box and a tuning frequency of 34 hz it's linear at down to 300 hz and then drops 1 db (!) down to 40 hz. -3 db seems to be at ~34hz. That's going to be interesting in my listening room 🙂
