I have a friend with a shelf of these with smoked ribbons, I wonder if they will be available again too

Anyone have any crossover thoughts on these drivers? I'd like to sub them in for a set of JBL slot tweeters.
They are best utilized 5-7k and up, if judging by the original ones. There are recommended minimum slopes/xo freauencies in the datasheet.
The A version i assume is similar.

Well both the 4001 and 1601A/B is still in production/ available.
The 4003 though, is still the best large diaphragm comp. Driver made, and should be reintroduced.
If they would only modify one of they're compression drivers, like a neo magnet TD-2002 with no internal throat, for modern waveguides/horns 😍
Similar to what they did with the 4001/4002 once.
1602's had too high return rates, due to abuse. And foam surround thats NLA and needs replacement on schedule.

Arez,
Here is a MLSSA Scan of a nos TAD, ET-703 (linear not log) I made from back in 2005, the pieces are still boxed. Xover was a 10-kHz 2nd order with a trap at 9.5k for safety. ACO Pacific mike at 1m.
I was a little disappointed in that a very humble Fostex FT-17h measured quite a bit better, flatter and more extended
Building a JBL L-300 clone, with the exception of the 077 tweeter.

Yes will be interesting to see how the 703A has changed in behavior.Arez,

The measurements you linked are very similar to the ones i posted, with different smoothing.
The main disadvantage of the original 703 tweeter is still the constraints posed by the internal throat IMO.
And yes there are tweeters with a better behaved response at least, not that the 703 is a large challenge to filter.
Yup the FT16H and FT17H is surprisingly nice and clean for they're cost 🙂
I would not pay for fake beryllium coming from countries sending us their pandemic nightmares ... where can I get pure Be foil 25um stripes at least 20x100mm long? Materion? How much? $10 a piece? Hope so!
Why are you not using the 077 tweeter? BTW, I have a complete driver set, lenses and crossovers for the 4333. The diy cabinet is in need of help. I bought 2405 alnico tweeter drivers and found out the seller had everything When I asked where he got them. My 2235 woofers need recone kits.Arez,

For anyone who is interested, here's the ET-703A instruction manual🙂The 703 came with instruction manual and passive crossover schematics. No idea if the 703a also has. We have not sold them yet.
