Why is a Native American tribe the inspiration for the project name?
I would prefer a Swedish folk hero as the godfather.

The addiction of diyaudio posters to parts you cannot buy at newark, digikey, mouser, or allied is endemic. I qualify that statement with a new fact. Digikey has LSK174b for $6.99 and LSJ74d for $9.03. Is the reduced Harmonic Distortion over $.25 2n5401 2n5551 audible on your speakers? Does your hearing even go above 14 khz?
I like both Indians and concepts - and especially the minimalist incarnations.
After all, the little monster thrives on simple, symmetrical thinking - without component battles and tombs.
👍
Just the way I like it,
HBt.

I don`t know why Lineup can`t make his own amps, and quite frankly, it`s not not my problem. However, we all know that he from time to time enjoys giving us new creations. For that we should be glad, some of us will try to put his thought into fruition, some don`t.
But really guys, if his work doesn`t mimic what spare parts we have lying around, is that his problem??? A white cake has some specific ingredients. If you don`t posess them, you go to the store and get them, what you don`t do is curse the author for not using whatever YOU had.
JC what a petty comment.

When I moved from the Cherokee reservation to Paris in the 1980s, I began working with Jean Hiraga and met le Monstre, as well as his other great amplifiers. Why is a Native American tribe the inspiration for the project name?
Therefore I approve of the name. 😉
What are you hoping for with the supply voltage and bias changes? More headroom?

Those who might be interested in a "Le Monster" variant with higher rail voltages and higher bias should perhaps take a look at this :

Everything explained in detail.
Actually built, not just simulations.
Cheers,
Patrick

@Pano
Has got a comment that I should not use tribe names on my projects.
He told it could be racistic and that I should change.
On the contrary I see it as a way to recognize the native americans.
Already a Navajo member has commented positively.

I think it will sound good while eating Swedish meatballs and pickled herring.
Well, maybe not so much of the pickled herring, they smell fishy.
I think most of you will prefer pickled herring to haggis, so don`t fret about the meat balls.

I'd rather stick needles in my eyes than eat haggis.
Let's try not to offend/insult/stereotype any other ethnic groups. 🙂

To clear this up, I offered the friendly suggestion to change the titles to ward off any ill feeling from those that might take offense.
No disrespect intended from me. In my opinion, there’s already been too many snarky jabs at the OP for offering his simulation Ideas. I like his theoretical threads.

People read these postings because they are interested in DIY Audio. Anyway, that's why I read them... 😉 I don't read about gravity, and I don't care if anyone else does. The best thing about the internet and internet forums is that no one is forced to read whatever they don't want to.
However, Native American tribes are not just team mascots or names of stereo amplifiers. We don't all live in teepees or hogans anymore. Some of us live on reservations in house that look just like little pink houses in Indiana. And some of us live in cities and might be your neighbors, at least here in the USA.
That's why we don't live on past grievances and instead live in the moment. But that philosophy is kept close to our hearts because we don't want to be portrayed on some movie or TV show as undignified savages as is common, even today. And that is also why there are no longer Redskin football teams and Indian baseball teams. We lost our dignity but remain on this Earth to live just like everybody else, not as anyones mascot, symbol, to be pitied or celebrated. I'm not trying to impress on anyone my personal feelings or wear my heart on my sleeve. But, I am a retired engineer who chose numbers and data instead of words because they never vary. Two plus two equals four today, yesterday and in the future. You do whatever is appropriate for you, but keep in mind your actions on the internet don't impact my life personally because I have a delete key and can simply turn off the computer if anything is irritating to me.
I'll take the rest of the day off the internet and enjoy some music on my cobbled together amplifiers and other gear that sound great to me.
