Yep but this build does not have any kind of damping .... Not sure of the reason ... Also looks of different dimensions than the Sibelius...I saw this last night on you tube and for those who want a video on how to build a Sibelius cabinet, here is what it will take:
Great build getting those mitres to align like that takes skill and good equipment. I would love to get the build plan. Are those MAOP drivers trickery to run in?I saw this last night on you tube and for those who want a video on how to build a Sibelius cabinet, here is what it will take:
I don’t think it’s a gap. Just the bottom piece have like a recess.
I understand that, but if I buy one pair as hobby diy builder I cant match that one pair because that is only pair I have. Reason I posted it was question how much different can Sibelius driver be in percentage from stock driver? Few dB different FS, maybe slightly different VAS or Qts? Well, when you buy pair of any MA drivers, not A&B MAOP, you get that anyway, and we saw that even with MAOP if they are not A&B same serial number pair. One ofthe thing si did with my EnABLed MA was pair matching (to a greater extent than MAOP).
It should be noted that the MA have the tightest QC ofany of the brands i have done significant tnumbers of and a random pair islikely closer than with other makes.

Other brands are maybe worse, but thats not important for this thread

Quite a bit.
Given the Sibelius driver’s origin.

Ok, we don't know what kind of driver is it, you can't tell us but insisting that Pearl driver is something very different, stars, sunshine and nightingale song in it, no wonder it costs that much...so no more reason to discuss that.
Still, I hope that this project will be successful for guys who invest they hopes, time and money in this.

No worries DIY musical and builder friends.
The original 10.3 driver is a fantastic driver and will play beautiful also in this cabinet.
For sure!
I've very good experiences with them in my "universal" "test" cabinet the "Crystal-6 Double Horn".
In this cabinet I tested several drivers but the Mark Audio sounds perfectly, sooo beautiful, much and much and much better than the Lii, TB and AN I tested for the fun.
I like to hear the difference between the 10.3 and 10.2......😎.
Next week (of maybe this weekend) I'm ready with the cabinets to listen to them but I know for sure they will sound satisfying 😍 😍👌👍.

Hi Dave it makes 100% sense what you say....... I think one needs to define your reasons for building these speakers.....Pick a driver, build an enclosure that was designed for it.
Putting a different driver in a guessed enclosure. Harley is not using A10.3.

Need some guidance.....will there be noticeable difference in a TWQT vs Pensil what would that be.....
Im think of using either A10.3 (no long freely available in aus) or A11 or P11. I cannot find a TWQT plan for the A10.2/A11/P11. The P11 seem a good value option....
I also saw the CHP90 that @nandappe built.......may be a good option as well just not sure about the paper drivers.......
I want to build a nice looking pair of speakers (looks similar to the Sibelius) with a warm sound that has a good sound stage to appreciate great recordings on....
I am open to guidance.....

It is possible to create an ML-Voigt that has pretty much the same alignment as an ML-TL. The nature of the harmonics will change, but that gets squashed by the damping/other LP filters in the box.
So they can look different (if you don’t fold the pipe) but sonically pretty close.
a warm sound
That happens higher up in frequency than the box influences (except for diffraction effects)

...should make. You can make the rear chamfer on the driver cutout a fair bit bigger
I already did before you posted. 😉
I maximize the chamfer with the biggest mill that I have. Nice!
Panel thickness according original design.
