Hey everyone, I am overseeing an installation for a sound system in a new venue, and am interested in potentially going the DIY route.
I've come here to learn about the potential benefits of a custom-made cabs over perhaps a more generic pro system.

If size is no issue, I can gladly recommed these: https://www.diyaudio.com/community/threads/asathor-a-jbl-4367-clone.367215/
Finish is of course up to you. Yes, they´re big, but very sensitive, so you can do with little amp power and still play loud.
I have these in my living room, and my 600 watt monoblocks seldom/never go past 10-20 watt 😉
The price/value is outstanding.

Thank so much for the reply! These look amazing, how complex is the build?
I have come across a local builder who has been building Syntripps and MEH horns so they are an option.
One slightly crazy component is I’m hoping to get a setup suitable for ambisonics. Starting with 9 full range in a sphere formation. So size is an issue as the flying height is just 3m and over heads in one area

Hi again Nat.........Thank so much for the reply! These look amazing, how complex is the build?
I had a carpenter/furniture maker (Google translate) make my cabinets, and even very solid and completely done according
to the build guide, the charge was around 300£. The rest is fairly simple...... even the crossover.
My complete cost for every part incl. paint and even the paint brush came to less than 900£ for both speakers, which I found was
an unbeatable bargain 👍 😉
