Which 6 inch full range driver for next project?

A Fostex from 2 decades ago. More sensitive than teh MAOP 10, but wants a horn and a hihish output imopedance amplifier. Has the fabled Fostex resonances (can be tamed somewhat). But not near as refined or as versatile as the smaller MAOP.

No expereince with the Satori.

Hard to beat the Markaudio, at least without dropping serious coin. If i wanted to make them better i’d add helper woofers & biamp.

I have Fostex FE168EZ Sigmas, EnABLed and in ML-TQWT driven by No-feedback amps like DIY M2, F7 and others. In room response is upto 30Hz. Compared to a host of high end speakers I have heard, including smaller MA drivers in recommended cabinets, these are more real in their presentation of all genres of music.

Already have done two project with Satori 6 inch and 5.25 MAOP10. Planning to try something new with 6 inch driver.
Please suggest some good driver which can be on same level or above Satori or MAOP10.
Thinking about Fostex https://www.fostex.jp/wp/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/fe168ez.pdf
a friend of me replace in his satellite speakers the FOSTEX driver under

by the version with high quality basket under

(mentioned in post #1) and don't note at whole an enhancement regarded the sonic performance.

He is thinking about getting one of these drivers as a replacement to get a real sonic improvement over the currently used FOSTEX FE166:

Perhaps more esoteric than necessarily better in every aspect, but are you aware of the Dayton Audio Point Source High Efficiency 6.5" woofer (link)? They claim 99db efficiency (@4 ohms) and are a very unique design. Though this suggestion is probably better if you're interested in a unique rather than strictly "better" speaker, or want to play around with flea-watt amplifiers.

I don't like TB's 5" offerings either. Very average performance, ragged response, and lots of beaming. I tried a few and gave up.

The W6-2313 is a completely different beast. The XO is not as simple as adding a single cap on the tweeter, but once dialed in, it sings. It is quite something.

They are playing right now over here. Sealed or ported. Subwoofer supported.
The bigger sibling, the W8 version, also has a very good review over here placed in a TL. And I suspect the Satori 8" coax to perform just as well.

I agree. I think the FE168EZ is the best of Fostex and one of the best of FR.

I could only find sfr175 but is it swr175?
If yes,do you have frequency response for swr175?

This graph I got from Istvan in 2016. It is for SWR175A (alnico)

Well I have a chimeric 168eΣ namely the unique cone and surround but an alnico magnet (I don't have an original so can't compare spiders etc.). It is not extended high enough for me, but does sound like the smaller 108eΣ (which however has a very steep rise 1-2khz that I had to tame with a shelf filter before). Lately I have been playing with "LX" configuration with some success so the eΣ are in queue. A couple weeks ago I did try them briefly ad hoc, 108eΣ dipole front-firing suspended above (chimeric) 168eΣ up-firing over "borrowed" ML-TQWT, acoustic centers vertically aligned and crossover-less -- both drivers straight through. That would be my suggestion for the OP.

In the photo gallery: stacked micor55 "LX"

To me the eΣ have an order more detail intrinsically than MAOP 5 and maybe two orders more than MAOP 7, in my limited listening of them all (please note). The Satori 2-way that I did was (in my own opinion of course) pretty faultless until below 60hz.

Would appreciate very much your ML-TQWT cab approx. specs -- my 168eΣ is chimeric but it may be a good starting point.

Different statements regarding the perceived sonic performance could arise not only from the known different boundary conditions ( different rooms and places, different cabinets and amps etc), but also from the fact that each batch could have a different frequency response and TSP than the previous one.
Because of the complex surface structure of the cone (diaphragm) and surround, I think the probability of this is quite high in opposite to usual constructions - go to the attached images.
