Clearing out my parents house, got ahold of their old MHC-C305 sound system. Was hoping to find a use for it by hooking it up to my tv, but seems it only has aux in and mic/phones in ports. Anything I can do with that? I don't really have much use in a radio/cd/cassette, so unless I can find some novel use, probably headed for the dump.
Not my area of expertise, not sure I even posted in the right place, so bear with me!

hey bud you can buy a RCA to 1/8 in. headphone adapter to plug it in. it might do you some good .I run my ol sony as my sound system for my pc.
If you do decide to take it to the dump, I'd like to offer to keep it from the landfill. If you could find a box and some bubble wrap (Home Depot is my go-to for that stuff) I'd cover the cost of that and shipping. Probably fit the unit and speakers in a small or medium size shipping box along with a roll of big bubble wrap. It's a decent system and I'd be happy to have it. I'm in northern New Jersey 07871. Thanks for the consideration!
One more thing, that stereo also has a quarter inch jack input in the front. which would have been used for a microphone, but you could buy a standard guitar cable. and by 1/4 inch to 1/8th inch reducer This would allow you to have a headphone type 1/8 size input for your stereo.
Appreciated insight! Only problem being, the bloody TV doesn't have RCA! USB, HDMI and Digital Audio Out (Optical) are my options.hey bud you can buy a RCA to 1/8 in. headphone adapter to plug it in. it might do you some good .I run my ol sony as my sound system for my pc.
I suppose I could work a series of adapters, but is it even worth it?
I mean, sure, I might be game for that, assuming I can't figure out a way to put it to use.
