UPC1237 Speaker protection board: Current requirements

I purchased 3 batches of these chips from Ebay (different sellers), 30 pieces in total, and tested all the boards I made (5 so far), and the chip
was working correctly, including DC detection. That was 4 years ago.

Thanks for confirming. I tested all ICs again with different set of passives , both AC failure and DC detection are working now. I think the capacitor connected on Pin 2 was faulty. Ordering more of them from AliExpress

You can buy from anywhere and if required can change relays for better quality contacts

They will last for many years , provided those are genuine omron relays

No capacitor is in signal path or exposed to high heat , just basic filtering and timing. So expect 7y+ of service
