Yes, it´s funny.I’m glad this thread is getting some traction. Who knew there were so many camera buffs on DIYA.
Here my camera collection some years ago

the older cameras are from my grandparents (rolleiflex, around 1950) and parents (olympus OM10, from 1982).
my 180 mm macro lens has proven to be very useful for my slow-motion particle videos!
ROFL. Depends a bit on what you want to do but yeah, it does take (a lot) more time.I did borrow a friend's 4x5 view camera to see if that was for me. It wasn't. They say, "f/8 and be there" but with view cameras it's more like f/32 and be there an hour early.

I'm well equiped with cameras. From 16mm miniature over 135 to medium format 6x4.5-6x17 and 4x5. Using them is fun. But then the pain begins if you don't have a fixed darkroom and/or scanner setup. Each time rebuilding the bathroom is fun for once of twice but then the magic fades fast. And I really don't have an idea where I could put up that 4x5 enlarger...
We have the same waste container here in ViennaRight! Apparently i forgot what f/1.6 looks like ...
Here is a 30 mm f/1.6 image shot with my old canon 60d, using a sigma f/1.4 lens: View attachment 1274552
Pretty similar depth of field!
I used some tilt in the front standard to adjust the plane of sharpness.Everything is in focus with a 150mm used at closeup. Nice demo of tilt in action.
Without that, I would need to stop down to f/22 or even f/32.
some random from florida...

65mm f/4 -- you can buy these lenses used for less than half what I paid for mine.Ooooh ... I want one - an Ultrawide that is. Which one do you have?
I've got a darkroom in a spare bathroom. I have a 4x5 enlarger as well as a 5x7.
I have a Beseler 45 enlarger and a Minolta "head" with xenon flash tubes. Unpacked in the garage for 8 years.
Oops sorry - my brain was thinking CLE. 🤪
I think Panasonic had a joint project with Leitz for a while. I had an early Lumix with a Leitz lens. Sadly, I dropped my shoulder bag because the strap broke and my laptop crushed the camera. Laptop was ok though. 🙁
On a different subject.
It’s like calling a Mercedes Metris transit van a Chrysler 😂
The USPS is switching to Mercedes vans for mail trucks after nearly 40 years of the old Jeep like Grumman LLV. I think parts obsolescence is the main reason. But my mail carrier said the van is way better and easier to use, carries more, is more comfortable. Imagine driving a 37 year old car 8hrs a day. How would it compare to your modern car.

Actually, 150 mm on 4x5 is equivalent to 50 mm at 35mm, so it shouldn't be a big deal to get reasonable DOF at f/16.Everything is in focus with a 150mm used at closeup. Nice demo of tilt in action.
Some may even argue that 150 mm is a "short normal" for 4x5 and push for a 210 mm instead. There's a lot of slop in 4x5.
