It is a Eames about 10.000 euro. But replicas are sold for about 800 euro.
They are on ebay and amazon.

The Herman miller eames chair? The most famous modern lounger, a mid-century modern masterpiece? No it would not be better in fabric, to make up for it make sure your copper is 1000% oxygen free, elevated and traveling perpendicular to magnetic waves

I'm currently planning to DIY this chair.
Leather is reflective in high mids/highs.
Being a 'large' seat it might induce coloration ( even a wearing a cap induce coloration). And i'm not suggesting an original either but if copy exist they'll take 'liberty' wrt original so might exist in fabric.
I wasn't suggesting an original Wassily either, rather a copy. I don't see the point to spend 3500€ into 4 meters of steel tubing and some small strip of leather...

Interesting take on leather, tell me how many types, texture, thicknesses of leather have you tested for reflectivity? Are we just talking cow leather here or are these wide platitudes for all animal skin? Deer skin, gator skin, tanned albatross hide with feathers? How about leather with fur still attached? Duck canvas (since it has similar density)
“If you like sound of ER that's fine to me but not my preference at all.”

@Indigent Audio I've not defined absorption coefficient by myself but had access to a whole library of them relative to different materials in my former job.
I won't pass it there as i've been asked not to do and it's proprietary owned but it's easy to find 'generic' data over the web.
Here is an example, page 9 first row for leather, compare to second row which is fabric:

From 500hz to 4khz difference are noticable and effective.

LOL.
If someone doesn't agree with you he/she is against you? I don't get it sorry.
You talk about sound being hurted. It doesn't mean anything. Talk to me about imbalance relative to coefficient of absorption and frequency band and maybe from there we could have a constructive discussion.
Like i already stated your preference are different from mine, i've no issue with this, it doesn't seems to be your case. I'm into RFZ and ER management because i spent (maybe too much) time into control room working on audio. I get it's not everyone taste or preference and i'm ok with it. Try to accept this too, difference is fine and what make 'salt of life' in my view.
Belief and opinion have nothing to do with facts and believe it or not in some fields people are ok to let the cash flow if facts are checked, not on word of mouth.
And by the way it's not a thread about subjectivism vs objectivism so keep this rethorical entertainment in that thread belonging to 'The Lounge'. Best regard.

+1 for POÄNG. The "leather" cushions will last a long time too. The cloth ones tend to show wear pretty quickly.Ikea POÄNG 👍 cheap, comfortable and not too bad looking.
In terms of what makes a difference for the sound quality I think the chair is pretty far down on the list. If you're that worried about it, perhaps use headphones...
I find directors' chairs pretty uncomfortable due to the lack of back support.Yes, I also think the director's chair is a good option.

Poäng is a good chair that's light, bouncy, and comfy and is the unofficial listening chair by my survey. However it is NOT a good listening chair for having a high back. It can be modified to have a low back, and then it's great again, leather or cloth.

Read post 21.Very nice, but what is it?
Pete
@Andersonix I love the Poäng setup in the manufacturing space that you show in Post 33. Can you imagine a harder room with more hard reflective surfaces than that? It makes me wonder about manufacturers who base their design decisions on listening tests.

It looks like captain Kirk has not only the right chair but also he has the sweet spot on the flight deck.🙂
