Help with subwoofer design

Hi!

I`m looking for help regarding designing a subwoofer, i need two subwoofers thats pretty slim, they can be wide, and high but the slimmer the depth the better. I also want good capacity in both deep bass and midbass, thinking of crossing it over between 100 - 120hz.

Which driver, and also which enclosure, sealed, ported, horn?

For slim box, I would go with multiple smaller drivers. Something affordable, proven and capable for deep bass in smallish volume, like Visaton W 200 S. Its available in both 4 and 8 Ohm version, so more flexible in terms od final impedance when used in multiples.
Four such drivers in suitable vented box and thats it. Vents can be placed on sides, if box isnt deep enough for front placement.

Prefered max depth around 350mm.

I dont think the Visaton W200S will be enough? Only 8" drivers?

Or maybe if i build alot of them, but i want really good capacity. Also in the subsonic area.
I thought you need really slim box, something like 200mm or so, hence my recommendation for multiple 8in drivers.
W 200 S can do F10 below 30Hz, but true its not subsonic. And you would need at least 4 per box to move enough air.

350mm depth is enough for big, proper sub drivers that can hit 20Hz. I agree with post #5 on that.

Maybe, but do they have good midbass? I think they would do very good in the deep bass area, but what about the midbass?
Midbass would be 300-400Hz and higher.
If crossing is 100-120Hz I dont see the reason to worry about.

Kinda ‘skinny’?
