Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a little guidance regarding electrical adjusts for a D-303 as per the Sony Service Manual. This question likely applies to many devices.
Under the 3.5 and 3.8 volt adjustment sections, it states that one must "Perform X.XV adjustment with an AA size battery". What does this mean exactly?
My only guess is that the unit should be powered by battery instead of wall wart.
Thanks in advance for the help!

There is no reason these should need adjustment unless components in the switching PSU have been replaced and there is also the possibility that actually altering these rail voltages will then alter the alignment of the rest of the adjustments.
Measure them and if they are within 5% of their nominal values then I would leave them be and work on the basis that this is how they were originally set.
You'll probably want to use a fresh, high-quality AA battery too. And not a rechargeable one as they tend to have slightly lower voltage than the alkaline types.

Follow up question. The instructions say one battery, but the device takes two AAs. Is this likely just bad translation or a special method?
