Hello
My valve amplifier has an integrated DAC module which according to the manual can be upgraded.
Has anyone any knowledge or experience of sourcing and replacing DAC modules on integrated amplifiers?
Many thanks EZ

There's no such thing as a standardized form factor for a DAC board to be manufactured as so as to be swapped in and out. You basically need to contact your manufacturer and find out in detail what the manual is referring to.
Thank you for getting back to me.
I have contacted the manufacturer unfortunately the owner passed away.
However, the description of the amp states "The modular design of the W-30 will also help ensure it's longevity in your system. If circuits get improved over the years (such as the DAC), a simple circuit board swap (a few screws and quick connect cables) allows for easy upgrading to keep your system up to date with future digital technologies.
That is why I asked the question.

Not suggesting it was a bad question. However, if you cannot get technical support there will be no "easy" option for you. You will have to do the hard work of figuring out what the DAC board is, what signals and supplies go to and from it, and then move on from there.
About all you can do is try to reverse engineer the existing dac (mostly by visual inspection and some ringing out) sufficiently to understand how it interfaces with the rest of the system, and or take various signal measurements with scope suitable for use with digital audio which might also lead you understanding the interconnections and or protocols.
How much do you know about digital audio? Do you have a DVM and a 100MHz, 2-channel scope (or better)?
Otherwise if you removed the dac board and took close up high-res pics of both sides, good enough quality so we could read part numbers on chips and trace out wiring, then maybe we could offer some help remotely.

W30? Grant Fielity W30?
Dug a bit deeper. It is.
The quote is from here: https://grantfidelity.com/new/index...elity-w-30-integrated-tube-amp-retired-model/
I have attached the original as-designed technical document which should help. How well it was executed in production i am not sure. My guy had to get on the phone with the “engineers” in China and explain the (SS) LTP.
BTW: designed such that it could easily be converted to a Vacuum State PP-1C clone with SS on the bottom of the cascades.

Wow! Thank you for your responses.... and thank you for the files!!
Quite a bit to follow up.
Somehow since I assumed that the DAC was "of the shelf"
the i/os would be fairly standard in DAC modules.
The DAC board is accesible so the next step would be
to take it out and photograph it and see and it reveals.
Thanks again!
