Hi!

I use the Douk Audio U2 Pro and works fine. I connect it to a M2Macbook air or an iPad and it was plug and play, up to 24 bits / 192 KHz through optical or coaxial. Haven't tried the I2S interface as I don't have anything to connect it to. I send the digital output to my Arcam CDS50 and sounds wonderful. My source is Apple Music.

Beware that the first unit came defective and had to return it. The second one have been perfectly fine for a month or so. I bought it on Amazon.

Hi, This subject intrigued me a bit, so I did a bit of digging. One blogger actually advised, upgrade your sound card first. Which seems to me to make sense as I have a standard OM card in my desktop. But of course you need to check the you have room.!!

Cheers

get a usb dac 🙂 as i started my hifi jorney i read this too, got a soundblaster Z and while it was better then onboard audio the biggest jump in SQ was going to a topping D10

speaking of DDC, i actually pulled the trigger on a ian canada transport digi, very nice improvement compared to connecting over USB and you are even able to use the rpi + hat as DDC with some setup effort ... you can enable "usb gadget" on the raspberry pi to stream audio over usb to the rpi
