I'm currently designing a set of compact two way desktop speakers that are bi amped, and want them to have a detachable cable.
Does anyone have any suggestions on connectors with 4 pins that might work? I was looking at the mini din connectors but it looks like they are only rated for 2 amps at 12v. I'm worried they won't handle the power as the chip amp is 24v and outputs 30 watts into each channel.

The Lumberg DIN connectors are rated at 5A per connection.
That equated to 100Watts of power at 24volts so well on the reliable side for your needs.

Speakons? 2 / 4 / 8 pins available, reliable, pro, >>10A.
XLR 4-pin?
Lemo has high current 4-pins.
Hirschman, Binder, Amphenol, Harting, Phoenix, Switchcraft all have 4-pin connectors.

I highly doubt that a small desktop speaker would ever require a heavy-current connector over 2 amps.I'm currently designing a set of compact two way desktop speakers that are bi amped, and want them to have a detachable cable.

At normal volume levels the current may only reach 1/2 amp, if that.
@ghettoblasterfanatic did you mean something like this with panel connector too? These are for Naim amps and 4 pin made by Preh Gmbh

Jon and Citizen made excellent suggestion however, switchcraft are a nice budget option, Amphenol for the ultimate!

4-pin mil-spec 26482, shown are the Souriau 85101JC8-4P50 and 85106JC8-4S50. Both approx $ 30 each.
Also in various styles (box-, wall, cable, jam nut), Amphenol, ITT-Cannon, Souriau are manufacturers.
Expensive & rare due to circumstances. Mil-grade, colour is 'olive drab'.
I've some 25 pieces for sale (new > $ 1100, a bargain for $ 880 now). You may pm me.

Speakons are the best option. They are made for pro use and handle more than you will ever need. If you really want to spend money look at Cinch or Amphenol mil spec screw on multi pin connectors. Get them surplus to save money but it’s overkill.
Vs about $3 for a speakON.4-pin mil-spec 26482, shown are the Souriau 85101JC8-4P50 and 85106JC8-4S50. Both approx $ 30 each.
Note that you can get a 90º version of the speakON connectors. They're handy if there's limited space behind the speaker.
Mouser carries Neutrik.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm pretty set on a 4 pin din connector. Looks like it would work out perfectly for me.
