The question is for their later Drivecore2 amplifiers with crossover. The stereo mode offer decent flexibility, for one example you can independently set the crossover between the L and R channels. Useful with active set ups. https://www.crownaudio.com/en/products/xls-1002
Further more it will handle 2ohms in stereo no problem at all. But what if the ohms were mismatched between the two stereo channels? Meaning the Left sees 4 ohms the Right sees 2 ohms? And while doing parallel meaning two subs on one ch vs. one on the other simultaneously, equaling 2ohms ch1 4ohms ch.2. I'm thinking its okay to do so, but double checking is safer sometimes. If need be it can be in series, there should be enough useful current there to satisfy needs.

Don’t know if it is the same or simialr, but Quattrofish found that a simple PLLXO smoked the XO built into his Crown.

It works pretty good when all the other ducks are in order. Subs blend with stand mounts seemlessly. Crown said they tweaked the crossover in the newest offers. Beats me. I was a bit skeptical of it at first. And I'm sure there are better. That can sit for now other items have higher importance first. When if time comes I want one that ups line output voltage too, before it goes back out. I got four and I need some more. The line amplifier I bought sounded better unhooked in the end.
To call it an "amplifier" might not of been exactly correct. The amp/gains are like a seperate entity. However voltage does bump up by the time it exites the preouts of the crossover.
I like the Bryston and Marchand crossovers. But as I was saying that attention is far from dire. The Crown xls sounds pretty good imho. Besides subs I also tried it on some JBL PA's, it sizzled, it sounded good. Not to mention ridiculously loud. Far too loud for use in the house apparently.

Wouldn't signal exiting a DACpre then getting scrambled again in the crossover DAC become a hindrance?
As I was saying it sounds good with room gain as is. More often some gain boost benefits sealed subwoofers. I will have to hear it and compare. Or 6db of boost might sound incredibly nice.
I wanted this for some time https://hometheaterhifi.com/reviews...n-10b-sub-active-stereo-crossover-networknew/.
It has to come in order of things. Its going to add alot of diversity and help meet system goals in to the future.
With recordings that lack something it could also prove to be a useful tool.

Do you know the make and model of the XO off hand?Don’t know if it is the same or simialr, but Quattrofish found that a simple PLLXO smoked the XO built into his Crown.

Secondly I need more line level voltage from the domestic preamp to better serve the Crown power amps. I can't get the power I want from the preamp to generate the SPL I want unless the master volume starts getting up close to 10 o'clock and beyond. By then the system is way too loud for weeknight listening sessions.
I have the Crown gains maxed out but it isn't where I'd like my sub levels to be. The subs barely get happy until I start wrapping the master volume dial up around 10 -12 o'clock.
If a XO doubled volts at the outputs to about 8volts that would probably be enough. Then also eliminate the need for the extra link in the form of a line level amplifier.
My preamp line outs have 4 volts. The Crowns like / need at least double that.
