This may be odd but a good friend of mine also had/has problems with noisy transformers where he lives and he tried everything on the book and all crazy "solutions" for his problem and in the end the answer was in plain sight outside his cottage door.
As some of you already figured it out he was next door (2nd house) from a grid transformer on a pole and there was nothing he could do to get ride of it (moving out was out of the question).

I have experienced all kinds of transformer related problems, after hearing the recording of the amp in question I bet it is some defective part involved. Which means: Not the buyers problem any more.
If other amps perform without problems in his house, again, it is an isolated problem with ONE single amplifier.
I got the impression PL was quite active in this thread, even if audioemotion did not mention it, for some undisclosed reason.

Well , in this particular case , i am affraid that truth is right at our eyes , which doesn't mean it is simple .....

Please note that I'm sincerely glad if you are so sure about a truth, but for me it has never been like this and then my (humble and so very personal) view is a bit different.
Even admiring Oscar Wilde's works, I think that THE truth does not exist. IMHO
At most could exist my truth, your truth, his truth and so on...
I also think FWIW that everything about the truth concerns the human being of course, and therefore his ego, his interests, his weaknesses, et cetera.
And when it comes to the above then scales of values always reduce themselves to one's own interests, and ego and weaknesses, again.
Just as a kind of vicious circle.
Generally speaking, and setting these premises, I think it is very difficult to know where really THE truth is. IMHO
Andy's behavior is very understandable (he felt abandoned, problem solved now).
Wayne did not tell until today that PL was working on the subject, and Audio Emotion apparently did not communicate this cooperation with Andy so I understand that Andy felt "alone". As so often, a matter of poor communication.
In the end, it did turn out to be, in fact, a 'four-month' ordeal—a genuinely horrid experience.
For technical interest it could be interesting to know if amp is according to spec. or it has a problem and "if" what the problem is.
I wonder what happens with the amp now?
Will the dealer try to "diagnose" the amp or will it be sent to a repair shop in GB or maybe sent back to US?
Or maybe the dealer will just sell the amp to another and hope the same problem does not occur again (probably not the case but just to mention most possibilities)?

All that really matters here is that Andy Cine has received a satisfactory outcome, a full refund.
These are my own thoughts for what they are worth...
Speculating is pointless, there are to many unknowns as to the whys and wherefores of what has happened.
It would have been good to have another new and identical amp tried at the same location, the outcome of which would have led to a couple of possible routes... either the original had a one off problem or conversely both do the same at that location. If the later then that would need a much more detailed analysis by a Pass Labs representative, firstly determining if the noise was excessive.
If it was then both amps would need trying at another location to prove beyond doubt that they are silent elsewhere.
Assuming they are then a check of the mains at the original location would need to be done with the amp powered and buzzing while looking for any obvious issues such a distortion, asymmetry etc of the incoming mains.
So we just don't know and can't really say any more as things stand.

Well, it's not so simple and generalizing. IMO
First of all I'm not at all sure that privacy laws are equal everywhere.
What I know is that at least here the privacy law prevents you from revealing data or details of someone (people or companies) both publicly or privately.
Think about that.
