Anyone ever try adhesive circuit board mounts? Would eliminate drilling holes and trying to get them lined up right.

When I'm drilling holes for mounting a circuit board, I use the bare unpopulated board as a template for laying out the holes. I put masking tape over the metal, place the board directly on the tape and then mark the hole locations.
From a philosophical point of view, I enjoy the audio DIY process so I'm in no rush to finish the project. It's not like a house reno project where there are time pressures. I find that without time constraints, taking things slowly and working things out is enjoyable. It's kind of like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance.

Not trying to change your mind but adhesive board mounts are commercially available, not a matter of making them yourself.You don't want the pcbs to loosen, shift, or fall off. Adhesive is not a good idea.
And more permanent mounting like epoxy makes servicing difficult, or worse.

"I use velcro every day in commercial installations. Not only is the ability to attach/deattach super convenient but Velcro is the best vibration resistant bonding method. The more you shake it, the better it holds. I get funny looks now and again from the younger client site technicians but the older guys love it."

Of course. I've used those for experimentation for many years, but the adhesive dries up and the mount falls off,
especially in a hot environment. Not for serious work.
