For me, calling someone a lead guitarist means that they are in a band.

Well, I'm not going to edit anybody's, I've got better things to do, but IMHO the defining characteristic of the lead is that they play lead breaks in their music, whether solo or in a band, so for example I do not consider Nancy Wilson a lead guitarist.

Are you suggesting that they have to have a solo at some point in the song? My definition of lead is the person whose instrument you primarily hear, not that they have a solo in the song.

Your definition is highly unconventional. This is the generally accepted definition of lead guitar:

I think you put that video up in rebuttal, but I think it proves my point. How can you watch that video in its entirety and call Roger Fisher the rhythm guitarist? Remember, she's adding an extended solo for a live performance, not the studio version.
