Alpair 12p on wall

Baffle load[ing] for a fiver (loose terminology as I'm still stuck with a partly disassembled house & 'net access is limited). For typical bookshelves, narrower floorstanders etc. you often see that output in the ~1KHz - 3KHz BW depending on dimensions & driver type; it's one reason a lot of people seem to cross tweeters somewhere roughly between 2.5KHz - 3KHz -not necessarily because they're thinking of power-handling etc., although they might be, but because you'll see a slight dropping trend with declining frequency they try to incorportate into the high-pass design before it kicks up once again. Since with 2-ways I tend to like low-crossed tweeters at the price of a more complex filter and / or baffle design (or a quality mid-tweet 😉 ) I don't worry too much about it myself, but I suppose we all have our foibles...

A very good description of their “vintage” top end.

How many hours on them?

Nice diffuser in behind :^)

Thanks! Lots of mitre chops. Only about 20 hours or so. I tend to not be a huge believer in 'breaking in' but I am able to notice my ears adjusting to the speakers. The nice thing is these ones dont require alot of adjusting, nothing too peculiar about their sound. Just very pleasant and smooth.

Yeah, you know I really like the midrange on these guys. I had considered running a small horn and drooping it over the box for the very tippy top. Or maybe even a super tweeter 5khz+ might sound really good with these

Buddy is very happy with the results and says he thinks he's an audiophile now 🙂 Powered with an NAD 30 watt integrated with BT. Allin system cost around $1k
