Why aren't there tire puncture strips at freeway entrances

We must have hundreds if not thousands of medieval ((or older) bridges which are too low for some trucks and buses.
I and many others would be totally opposed to tearing them down besides most probably have preservation orders on them.

To avoid those bridges we have special truck sat-navs into which you input the height of your vehicle and they then send you on a route avoiding related issues.
Before the turn of the twentieth century what was called a road was an oxcart trail...no standards for composition, no width regulations, no height regulations...speed laws, traffic flow...none of it.
Would you rather we return to a form of medieval standards & practices? If a trail of ancient ancestry wishes to be preserved, do not make it used as a modern road...simple. Get with the times, if a new Anti-matter drive spaceport needs to be located right where the "Empire State Building" is in NYC , tear the damn thing down. We don't see people lamenting tearing down cold wet neolithic Peat-moss built homes do we?

Those are automatically protected as a national treasure.
Could land you in jail, people aren't even allowed to dig into burial mounds even if they own the land they are on.

It's been said that the size of the Saturn V rocket was limited by the wheel span of a Roman chariot. Don't know if it's folk lore or truth but I wouldn't be surprised.
