Before the turn of the twentieth century what was called a road was an oxcart trail...no standards for composition, no width regulations, no height regulations...speed laws, traffic flow...none of it.
Would you rather we return to a form of medieval standards & practices? If a trail of ancient ancestry wishes to be preserved, do not make it used as a modern road...simple.
