Due to Covid and the deaths in the family this cheap AVR 171S stayed in the box for a couple of years.
I started to set it up just before Christmas and I can't get it to work.
It's a warranty problem I am sure but due to my slackness it was purchased 3 years ago and the warranty is only for 2 years.
I hate to toss $900- in the bin but I also don't want to throw good money after bad and I'd appreciate an opinion.
H/T is for fun and movies with the grandkids, analogue stereo is what I normally listen to

I wouldn’t hesitate to have it looked at. That’s a nice looking unit with plenty of features. Ideal for the H/T it was designed for.
The OSD window won't open up, either by the remote or the physical button and even tho I have 7 speakers set-up it will only go into 5 channel mode. Also TBH I find the user manual a bit hard to fully understand, as I thought I'd done everything correctlyMore details, what does not work?
I have a number of old HK units the newest of which is a 30 year old AVR40 HT receiver doing TV duty since it as new. Not once in the shop. The old stuff, Citation still pulls it’s weight when I fire it up so I can vouch for my luck with reliability. Consider me an HK fan.
