Hi it is users Hynotoad, but designed to be used with AD797 at the front end. Why did you change as that op-amp is the cornerstone of the design.
Also sound great with Bursons V6.s in the 2nd stage.

Yes but this design was specifically designed for the AD797. I would suggest people would more likely buy with the correct op-amp. Just buy a couple of Chinese $5-00 ones

It has sockets, so anyone can install what they prefer. I'm not sure a Chinese copy would sound as good as a real AD797 or the AD811 that's installed.
I get that you like the hypnodoad a lot...It's ok for anyone to have prefferences.
AD811 is a very, very good and RARE opamp nowadays . It's higher noise is completely irrelevant with mc cartridges.Being an obsolete IC it's more valuable than one being still in production.
What's not ok is using 200k ohm carbon resistors instead of metal ones ...
AD811 is current production and appropriate for new designs according to ADI. Could you be confusing AD811 with AD846?
I built it just to listen to, since people liked it so much. I actually prefer my fet/tube phono stage better. I would install AD797 if someone wants them and pays full asking price,
OK with a MC the AD797 is super, with a MM the AD811 works better. I think a MM overloads the AD797. You pick which IC and price.
