The Van girl

I live on an acre in rural West Virginia. Of course I have a chain saw or two. Wouldn't want to pick a fight with one though.

I assume that many of the members here are old enough to go through the first "vans are trendy" phase in the 70's. I built out a 1973 GMC Vandura with a healthy 350 CID V8, the requisite shag carpeting, monster tires mounted on rims from a Z28 Camaro, loud exhaust, complete interior with 4 X captain's chairs, and an 8+1 sound system built with SWTPC Tiger amp clones. It was fed by a Craig Pioneer discreet quadraphonic 8 track deck or a Nakamichi cassette player. There was a second battery to feed the sound system for shaking the campground without draining the main battery. The rear pair of chairs were removable for camping trips or junk hauling. I also built out a bubble top Ford van for my parents with room to sleep 4 or 5 zero sound system, but ample storage space for road tripping. They took it on two 10,000 mile trips in the mid 70's.

Today my Ford Transit connect cargo van is devoid of any upgrades. It has done three 2000 mile+ road trips in the 4 years I have owned it, but I prefer to stay in low buck hotels when available. I'm too old and impatient for van life.

No, not even in the Thunderdome. 😉

Thats all that holds the windshield and back glass in place on most all vehicles since who knows when……..way before my time!
Some sort of butyl rubber compound nowadays……probably just black tar back in the ol’days.

edit; and how in the H E double hockey sticks did you come up with “feminism” from that Osvaldo?
Its nice to see young people of either sex doing something productive with tools…..and she‘s still got all her fingers 😉

Window pressure pushes aptly named windshields into the frame. Back windows get a little more engineered support than this. On the side windows she leaves a large gap unfilled beneath the leading edge into the wind, a little air scoop for an enhanced dalliance with chance.
I get she's cute but... 🤷‍♀️

Well...I bet she takes advice if she's pointed to a better version of her van! You can write her on youtube in the comments section 😉 Or , if you feel it's you lucky "editing day" you may be a patron and give advice directly! Girls love being paid for taking advice!
