Hi
Recently I finished the construction of a so called power conditioner (actually is just a power strip with a line filter), a very controversial artifact indeed.
The idea surged from the conjunction of used materials that I collected over time such as a Corcom line filter, a 15amp Carlingswitch circuit breaker and an old Regency cable box plus some new electrical components and a couple of 3D printed parts.
It is intended to be used with some of my old 1970's equipment which resulted to be noticeably sensitive to today's EMI coming from multiple smps and digital artifacts
.

Thank you, Galu! I appreciate your comment.Neat handiwork, Marcelo! 😎
Nice & neat.
I made mine using a previously purchased MK filter double plate wall socket outlet, MK surface mount box, MK plug, & white coloured 2.5mm CSA 3 core flex for cookers/immersion heaters!

Warning with the red MOV. It must have some kind of current limiter between it and the mains input. A fuse, a circuit breaker, or the like. Otherwise it can catch fire.
Thanks Dave!Nice & neat.

Mine uses 2.5 sqmm too.

What a sculptural job with acrylic and stone, remarkable!
I love the sign of the power switch!
Hola, OsvaldoWarning with the red MOV. It must have some kind of current limiter between it and the mains input. A fuse, a circuit breaker, or the like. Otherwise it can catch fire.
Yes, you are right.
Actually the power switch accomplish that safety function since it is a circuit breaker. The filter, with the MOV and the Carlingswitch came from the dismantling of an unserviceable Contact 3Z pick and place machine (una máquina de diez lucas verdes que necesitaba veinte en repuestos traídos de USA), all matching parts.
Anyway, the MOV is not that necessary for this home application since Buenos Aires has an underground power grid, not that exposed to things like atmospheric discharges (el problema son los cortes de luz en pleno verano y ahí no hay varistor que valga... y el verano pasado fue muy entretenido al respecto acá en Liniers, vos sabés...).
Also all those parts were extensively checked for functionality under specs and safety. When you reuse a 23yrs old emi filter like this you must to check that caps are not leaky.
Saludos, amigo.

I remember the first time my mom read the switch. She backed up a step and said, “Oh my”
