Hi Guys
Going to experiment with XKR very nice XSD speakers. No wanting to confuse the thread there, thought it's better that I start anew.
Question pls : Have gotten 20pcs 8 inch woofer with Qts of O.99 with sensitivity of 87 db at 8 ohms each, will use 10 woofers per speaker. Full range is a Coral Flat 8 with sensitivity of 94/95 db 8 ohms.
How do I wire them up together to get 8 ohms if possible ? Will test out with single speaker connection first no bi amping
Thanks

That's only for the woofers. Once you connect the woofers like that, treat them like one woofer and cross them to the full range in the normal way.
Hi Allen sorry to bother again was thinking what would be the net increase in sensitivity be & would I be better off going for 8 instead of 10 woofers ?
Thanks again
Thanks again
Ah yes, 9 per side will give you 8 ohms and +9.5dB sensitivity
8 per side can give you 16 ohms and +6dB, or 4 ohms and +12dB
10 per side gives 20 ohms and +6dB
12 per side can give 6 ohms and +12dB, or 11 ohms and +9.5dB

Hi Allen,
Thanks again, how to get 9 per side if it excludes the full range driver. This gain sounds about right. If 8 per side would it be possible to wire 3 pairs in parallel & 1 pair in series ?
Many thanks again.

Ok, I should understand how you will do this. Is it woofers in the SLOB, fullrange driver facing forward up top, the woofers only do low frequencies and the fullrange only does high frequencies?
Yes woofers in the Slob with cones facing each other. Woofers will only do lows around 300 hz or so
Full range will face front. Due to speaker height. I've decided to try 3 slobs at the bottom with 1 slob sitting above the full range if I go for 8 aside. If 10 aside then 2 slobs will be on top of the full range
Many thanks again

If the fullrange driver only works above 300Hz then do not worry about it. It is by itself and the impedance will be 8 ohms above 300Hz.how to get 9 per side if it excludes the full range driver.
Thanks again Allen but can't do 9 as slobs needs pairing to face each other so can only do 8 for 4 pairs or 10 for 5 pairs.
The reason I was thinking of 4 pairs is room gain but will have to test it out to know for sure. Re Full range if I can I will run it fullrange cause it sounds very good as it is don't want a cap to muck up the sound
Many thks again
