Well, a couple of my nice neighbors insisted on my lugging my homemade jukebox out of my garage where its sat for the past 7 years, unused.
Of course, they helped in the venture, thank god it's on wheels but weighs maybe 200 Lbs.
My neighbor and good friend Joe wanted to throw a BBQ/party on his side yard for a bunch of us.
The function was a total blast, everyone enjoyed the food drinks, and music.
Since I never heard my juke outside of the garage, I was also enormously surprised.
Those 8 speakers and 200 watt amp sounded absolutely amazing outdoors!
A few pics of the event......

Nice to do things with the neighbors. The homemade jukebox is a nice touch. Must have been a lot of work.
Indeed it was!Nice to do things with the neighbors. The homemade jukebox is a nice touch. Must have been a lot of work.
A year in designing cabinet/electronics.
Two years in construction. - finished in 2015.
Another month or so in tweaking the sound so it was "perfect".
4 Technics tweeters, 4 ten inch Technics woofers.
Sound-activated lighting (4 color/frequency bands)
CD, 45 player, multiple control modules (including remote control)
And mike input for sing-along/announcments - which after multiple beers the guests had fun with!
Good work. I spent many years in the coin-operated amusements industry, including juke boxes. I serviced them in the field at locations like bars and restaurants. I overhauled and rebuilt them in my shop. I trained other techs how to service them, etc. I lived for 40+ years on a farm way out in the country. On my 20 acres was a hill out back. Every Memorial Day weekend we had a large party, a three day affair. It was centered up on the hilltop. Friends would drive up from Detroit and camp out back there for the weekend, we had kegs, and usually a pig roast. and a bonfire. One year, just because I could, I brought a jukebox home from work and put it up on the hill. I then ran 750 feet of 12ga house wiring - Romex - from the house up to the hill. Lost a few volts, but it worked. People arriving could see something glowing up there, but it wasn't until you walked up the hill it came into focus. A jukebox in the middle of a 20 acre field. I put it on free play of course.
I'd hate to have to build one from scratch, kudos.

Good to see it getting to do what it was made to do! Hopefully becomes an annual thing 😉where its sat for the past 7 years, unused.
Oh, it was already stated to me that July 4th this year was only the first time this music machine was going to rear it's vintage-looking head this summer.Good to see it getting to do what it was made to do! Hopefully becomes an annual thing 😉
I was told firmly that it is to be brought out several times more..... up to Labor Day!
My neighbors are some of the best people, and direct too!
