Not dramatically, no. Atmospheric pressure dropped somewhat perhaps. Fixed itself maybe Jun 7. Temp did go up somewhat but if anything it fixed itself after a high humidity period..

Yep, this 'self-fixing' happened to me a couple of times over the last 15 years of quad ownership, although this squeal was somewhat more unusual.Same as I wrote about in post #5.
Ha, well, the speakers were designed about 50 miles away from me so they should feel right at home 😉Yes, but over 90% RH? On our climate anything over 70% is too much.
lets hope you just had some crud that got burned off over time. I repaired a quad 2805 with a squeal in a mid panel and it turned out to be a tiny fruit fly/gnat stuck in the panel. no clear way for it to have gotten in either. blew it out, reassembled the panel and speaker and sent the guy on his way. That is very unusual though.

Perhaps cat urine may be good stuff to remove glue from stators.Did anyone urinate at it, a cat for example? I know from experience with a pair of ESL-63s that the dust covers are not necessarily sufficient to protect against that.
