The fifth state of matter, the Bose-Einstein Condensate (BEC), exhibits quantum behaviours.

A BEC is formed when a group of atoms is cooled to near absolute zero, when they begin to clump together, behaving as if they were one big "super-atom".

Although BECs have been studied for around 27 years, the "super-atoms" are so fragile that the pull of gravity felt on Earth can disrupt them, making it challenging to learn much about them.

That explains why NASA installed a Cold Atom Lab aboard the ISS where the pull of Earth's gravity is not felt. It has just been announced that scientists have successfully blown small, spherical gas bubbles cooled to just a millionth of a degree above absolute zero - that's actually colder than space!

In fact, the scientists say that "Nothing that we know of in nature gets as cold as the atomic gases produced in the Cold Atom Lab".

All that remains now is to transition the ultracold gas bubbles into the BEC state to extend quantum physics research.

Teaser: Could Cold Dark Matter be a Bose-Einstein Condensate? 🤔

I am commited to leaving this Finite but Unbounded Universe a better place than I found it. We are, after all, in the business of making things better. Otherwise Life has no meaning.

We are, after all, Engineers. 🙂

We fix things. A high calling IMO.

I have decided to relentlessly pursue my own Gift of extreme Scientific Observation. Is Time real or an Illusion?

Another Physics Book on the go:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_Reborn

I like this one. Sort of shook up my lazy thinking. Lee Smolin says Time is real. But it depends where you look from. Either from the outside or the inside.

Intrinsic or Extrinsic. According to Einstein we live on a General Relativity 4D Conformal surface in a (maybe) 5D ADS Space.

Hope that makes sense. Haven't finished it yet. But will keep you posted. Exciting Times. 😎

Our style of living dont allow for a positive mark on the ball. The first indication that this is true is that there is something to "fix".

If there hadn't been any engineers, we would probably be in a much better situation actually (guilty as charged!) - in many ways.... (climate, wars, ...) sad but true..

So, we should have preserved the good.

From what I read, ADS space (embedded in five dimensions) does not correspond to gravity in general relativity as it requires a negative cosmological constant, unlike the standard Lambda-CDM model of the universe which has a positive cosmological constant.

DIC = Diploma of Imperial College!

DVD = You will be unsurprised to learn that on digging into my huge box of Digital Versatile Disks I possess a hard copy of One Million Years B.C... 🙂

TBH, it was that old Prince rescues Princess from Reptilian Monster (Tyranosaurus Rex) nonsense...

But entertaining to our schoolboy mentality. Who pays for Dinner?

Oh Sugar! Nearly burnt my Pizza whilst replying. But OK. Just a bit Crispy.
