Vinyl is a nicely compressed version of pure Digital audio

Digital audio is the factual high fidelity and true musical king. Vinyl sounds like the sun faded old lady version. Somewhat nice but lacks the really strong, muscular and bouncy pepp in the step. Lacks the really high and the really low. Lacks the powerfully, juicy but still clean and pure total control.

But vinyl crackes really really nicely like stone age camp fire did more than 5000 years ago🤗🔥

Ok this sounds evil. But we know that is true. Or.

You got a very very tired stereo setup that really finds sonic benefits of the true vinyl compression and dirty camp fire crackeling. 😇

So, there, someone finally said it like it really is🤘🙂

Been drinking? For what it's worth you are not the first to say this on here by a couple of decades. But others said it rather more coherently... 😛

Give me sharper critics. What is not coherent? 🙂

But of cource you are right about that i am not the first human on this planet that commented about the vinyl inferiority.

But the new vinyl cult is getting very old, fast, in my opinion 🙂

Ha ha .It's good to know that all those fools are spending entire fortunes on analog front ends instead of buying pa /studio quality gear offering true lifelike punch from rap mastering outfits. The main reason the quality of equipment is not really advancing is the level of customer it's directed to. It's the same with movies ,literature and art in general. Too many idiots are allowed to vote with their money ...

Rule #11 is also to be followed.
Hey Pano, if you are talking to me??? Give it to me straight. 🙂

Rule 1
” Disruptive behaviour of any sort, including offensive language, trolling, threadjacking, insults, intimidation, harassment or other disrespectful or antisocial behaviour.”

Antivinyl behavior? ✌️🤪🔥

If you go and listen to albums mixed and mastered for the medium of vinyl, instead of the compressed garbage that passes for modern mixing, and still feel this way about vinyl playback then I can't help you.

Well, this is an interesting take on the subject, in my opinion. Remember -opinion-do not take offence. Its just another dudes opnion. Okey?🤗

The problem with the early digital era was the analog double ball chopped vinyl version of the tunes was pushed in a not pure and not mature digital format: CD

Nowdays, a simple 192kbps youtube fully digital music home channel can beat the living shajze out of all of the king size oldies sonically, again. In my opinion.

Dynamics, resolution. Clarity. And bandwith.

Could be Music? 🙂

There are endless summaries of the pros/cons all over the web, e.g.

https://www.google.com/search?q=advantages+and+disadvantages+of+vinyl+audio&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t

Take your pick ... or better still, pick the summary which best supports your personal bias/belief 😉

IMO ... there are advantages to both, I think the greatest shame of the digital era has been the diminution of musicianship which pervades the industry. This is not the format's fault per se - but they do run parallel.

No doubt, there are still great recordings being produced, however, when a modern "star" can produce an entire Album without needing to credit a single musician ... when all the voice is pitch and time corrected ... when the harmonies are simply pitch-offsets of the primary performer ... when the rhythm section is "nanosecond perfect time" ... when the stage imaging is digitally enhanced ...

It makes me SAD ...

Sure, {RIAA + compression} was always the Achille's heal of vinyl - but then the vast majority of the older albums "remastered for CD", were simply digitized versions of the same - minus the RIAA part. Truly re-mastering takes time, money, and skill ... and if you are a large multinational record company - why bother, just spit the master tape to digital and away we go!

PS: we won't mention the profound drop in production cost of CD versus vinyl - with the companies maintaining Album cost and pocketing the difference !!
