Can anybody solve my issue.. I have a behringer nx4-6000 1600w into 2ohm.
Knowing this I decided to use my car sub in my home set up. However I am getting distortion at very low volume..
I have the sub wired in series to 2ohm so I assumed this would be fine..
Does anyone have any solutions?

When you say "at very low volume", do you mean the sound is quiet, or the signal levels are low? Both?
The NX4-6000 will drive 2ohm reasonably well. Are you reaching clipping on the amplifier?
Have you confirmed the wiring on the subwoofer? - Any chance you've got the coils reversed relative to each other, meaning they'll cancel out and produce basically zero cone movement?
Does the cone move smoothly if you push it?
What's the rest of your signal chain?

Hi Chris. Thanks for getting back to me, amp not clipping only one light on. Sub is moving. No scratching if not playing and I push it in. I have the plus from oneside connected to the neg from the otherside and the other opposite pos and neg go to amp. I have the amp wired 1+ 1- with speakon connection.
Speaker is dipping below 1ohm though so I suspect it's the amp.. this speaker is 7500w peak I should of known it would dip really low..

You might not have described the wiring correctly - it sounds like the first voice coil is only connected at one end. Can you check the DC resistance with a multimeter at the SpeakOn connector? I'm expecting either ~0.7ohm or ~1.5ohm.
That particular amp doesn't mind 2ohm so long as you're not constantly in the red.
What's the gain set at on the amp? Is it somewhere near maximum? You might be clipping somewhere upstream.
No clip LEDs on the amp = you're not getting maximum power yet.

Hi Chris
I have bridged the amp and this seems to have solved the issue. However the amp states 1600w into 2ohm and 3000w into 4ohm! I was under impression bridged would not be suited, still am but its not distorting. The other thing that springs to mind is the speaker is still really still stiff as I never really used it in the car. I am not getting the results I wanted though, even with dsp. I am going to build a winisd design of box of 350litres with two 1m 6in ports. on spec it will do the job. If not I will put 18ultimax in.
The room is 5500 cuf with knock through in the kitchen. I also running a uk BK Monolith plus 1000w peak.
Could the room size be playing a major factor?
Thankyou and sorry for the late replay
O and a have it wired in series to 2ohm. wired parallel is 0.5 ohm

The NX4-6000 is not rated for bridged operation into a 2 ohm load.I have bridged the amp and this seems to have solved the issue. However the amp states 1600w into 2ohm and 3000w into 4ohm! I was under impression bridged would not be suited, still am but its not distorting.
Bridged operation with a 2 ohm load is the equivalent to running a one ohm load on each of two channels, not a good idea, even if it "works", the amp may current limit output due to the low impedance load.
The amp can drive 2 ohms on a single channel to 1600 watts, only 3dB less than 3000.
What enclosure is the driver in now?I am not getting the results I wanted though, even with dsp. I am going to build a winisd design of box of 350litres with two 1m 6in ports. on spec it will do the job. If not I will put 18ultimax in.
Room size is probably not a factor in your issues.Could the room size be playing a major factor?
What amp indicator lights are showing, - 40, -6, -3, 0 (limit)?
thankyou for your msg.. the amp never goes above the signal light (1green light) bridging it has not solved it! I have just turned it up a little and the distortion is still really bad. I have tried another speaker 8inch 4ohm 1000w peak with the same result.. I am beginning to think the amp is faulty?? or maybe the signal is distorted due to dsp boost.. I have a monolith+ and I dont have issues with that and its on the same dsp.. I don't want to give up but I am close.. should I sent the amp back?

Ive checked ohm load of the sub when its not connected and im getting 03.3 but when its playing its all over the place.
I have the speakon wired amp side 1+ 2+ at present I have tried 1- 1+ also. The speaker is still really still could this be an issue? the distortion sounds strange its like a popping noise.. sorry for the multiple msg I'm not very good on computers as I'm a builder and I'm quite useless unless I have a trowel in my hand.
