Last year when my grandson turned 2 I built him a Thing Board (pic below) and I just built this one for my granddaughter and added stereo so I can post it here. On top are a pair of KLH speakers and a PE digital amp and in back is a BT receiver.
Before you know it, they will want a real one. Not a little one either.
I nearly got revenge on a brother by offering his kid a real 1000 watt subwoofer that I had gotten for free and fixed.

Yes, very nice! It's sure to provide plenty of stimulation for their young developing minds.
My parents used to give me all the broken stuff to "take apart" when I was young, and 60 years later, I'm still doing it.

Wow, if that's not a head start into the hobby, nothing is. Bravo!
Hey, that's the PE version of the Sonic Impact amp.

I forgot the actual name. I ordered one, only and just one, when they first came out and PE (god bless them) sent me a case of 12 amps by mistake and never said a word. This is the last one.Wow, if that's not a head start into the hobby, nothing is. Bravo!

That "busy" colorful panel of assorted hardware, I'm afraid to say, is not small-child friendly.
Those door hooks are a potential danger for someone very young.
And anything else that's sharp and movable is also.

Kids will never know the world if they don't interact with it.....even at 2 years old.
My father taught me how a helicopter works when I was 5 years old and how the ruby laser was built and worked when i was 7 years old.Somehow i never forgot his graphite pencil drawing that neon bulb pumping the laser and 20 years later I was fixing high power industrial, medical and scientific lasers...Kids will never know the world if they don't interact with it.....even at 2 years old.
I would hate to see a toddler ripping their eye out, or living with a scar, caused by a dangling metal hook.Kids will never know the world if they don't interact with it.....even at 2 years old.
You can argue about "interactions" all you want.
But I'd never let some toddler be hurt by something as potentially dangerous as that mess.
