This is a disaster! Une Catastrophe. Which is a catastrophy in English. 😳
Now we must not only fix the crossover, but find a new woofer too...
What is the diameter of the woofer chassis, and the cutout?

The woofer chassis is 95mm and there is a recess in the speaker casing for it
I have a spare couple of Creative S700 speakers laying around that have the same size woofers in them. They’re made by Cambridge Soundworks.
Here is the woofer.
Since I don’t know much about the speaker world, I don’t know if these are considered good speakers or not. They don’t fit exactly into the casing but that could be rectified with a little routering. Haha.
Are they any good? Or should I go about getting another speaker?
Those speakers are beaten the eff up. Domes punched in, blown driver, damaged crossovers... Cambridge make decent speakers, but perhaps you want to cut your losses and just get a pair of Paradigm Atom...

Unless I have lost my touch, those are 92mm woofers on a four screw round faceplate.
I shall have to sleep on this one. Some problems are difficult.

My little one punched the domes in after I let him play with them when I found that they were faulty. Those speakers are beaten the eff up. Domes punched in, blown driver, damaged crossovers... I’ll have a quick look at those now.
Thanks.

Take a look at the amp, this could have happened due to a defective amp...though it does like a small child or animal had a wrestling match with it.
It hasn’t been plugged into my amp. I only acquired them last week.Take a look at the amp, this could have happened due to a defective amp...though it does like a small child or animal had a wrestling match with it.
And yeah, my little one was playing with it.
These are just a pair of speakers I’ve aquired. I’m going to use them as office speakers. I want to get them working as a project.
I’ve had them working this evening, when connecting the Cambridge woofers and the new Capacitor it needed temporarily. Just need to make the connectiong permanent now.
Are there any particular woofers that you’d recommend I use?
Come to think of it. The capacitors that had blown were film ones, there was unraveled film in the casing when I opened them up.

I would replace the electrolytic cap with a Solen film capacitor

This small woofer, at about 92mm diameter is proving troublesome to replace.
Measure the DC resistance of the working one, at the speaker terminals will be near enough. Probably 4 ohms.
These might fit easily enough at 90mm Alpair 5.3 fullrangers:

These 100mm wide Faital Pro 4FE35 4 ohm look promising too:

Small drivers are proving hard to find.

I might just stick with the woofers from my Creative S700. I might actually take the crossovers out of them as well to save some hassle. Haha.
If I come across someone selling replacement Wharfedale ones on eBay or something in the future, I’ll grab them and replace them.

I've just realised how tiny these speakers are! About 3L. I have 90mm Monacor HT-22 cone tweeters as big as that woofer!
Anyway here's an idea:

103mm diameter, about 80mm cutout, maybe smaller.
I have a pair awaiting a project, myself. About £40 a pair. MarkAudio CHN-50 Fullrangers and well liked in the fullrange forum.
No crossover needed unless you get prissy. KJF do a kit cabinet for them too which looks fun.

What site is the best to look at some new woofers/tweeters, I’ll treat these as a little project. I contacted wharefdale at the beginning of the week to ask about spares, but have not heard anything from them.
Would like to see if there’s anything that could be an upgrade.
Thanks

Ash, the speaker crossovers are blown. The woofers are blown. The tweeters are blown.
Notwithstanding my excellent idea of fitting fullrangers, I would consign these Wharfedale DX-2 to the rubbish bin. Move on.
Only fit for Firewood IMO. Buy some new ones.
