Hello Everyone,
I make Two channel Jean Hiraga Super 30 W Class A amplifier....
Just I am using this amp with Blameless Preamp. (Only Volume Control No Tone Control)
Sound is very Nice But on small Speakers "feel" lack of Bass ....
What is your idea about Preamplifier for Class A ? With Tone Control ? or without Tone Control.?
Which Other Preamplifier are suitable ..please suggest
Thanks In advance...

At this moment I am listening to a Class A amplifier with the DIYaudio store 'Whammy' pre-amp. No tone controls. Sounds excellent.
On the pinkfishmedia forum someone who has repaired (or maybe re-built) a Hiraga design has advised that such very simple circuits have to be tweaked by trial and error with a battery of test equipment, as every one will have a different sweet spot.
On the other hand, small speakers don't usually produce great bass, and the predjudice against tone or even 'loudness' (!) controls is generally seen as snobbery these days. I don't use either, but then I have a sub-woofer.

I was lucky enough to be allotted one of the part-built Pass VFETs in the second round - just personal taste but for me it makes most commercial amps sound constipated. It's driving ESL57s and the Sub is an old (active) REL Strata II taking a high-level feed from the VFET.
Elsewhere I use the VFET and a pair of ACAs to drive Linkwitz LX-minis. The latter produce a surprising amount of bass, but I find a sub or two just ticking over give any music a solid foundation - on the right setting I'm unaware of their presence but notice their absence straight away.
