Uploading formats

I can't find the acceptable formats and sizes anymore.
has this changed ?
I used to have to convert to mp4 to upload recordings with restrictions on size.
is this the same or has it been updated ?

there is no mp4 on the list ,which I used to use to post my home recordings .
is there another method to do this, or is it now pictures only ?

OK, my question sort of belongs here

is it possible to have small gifs actually showing as functional small gifs, not as enlarged static previews?

Updating the help file with the list of formats is logged on the todo list.

We currently don't allow media uploads as the space required for storage could get out of hand, but you can zip them up, or upload to YT or Vimeo and the software will auto-embed.

Any decent media format is already pre-compressed. ZIP won't make it much bigger, and may make it a pinch larger.

(I'm assuming nobody uses .BMP or .WAV, which may be a false assumption.)

I used the mp4 for audio only , and I use within the max file limit.
What is the point of a file size limit if you cannot use it ?
You could halve it if it was a problem ?

Yes, precisely. Just to use as a generic wrapper to put whatever you like inside.

They look a lot the same because the image isn't even thumb-size. Try a serious image.

I zipped my audio recording of my panels and it loaded perfectly.
It's more of a pain than before, but you can use different formats if wanted.
