• WARNING: Tube/Valve amplifiers use potentially LETHAL HIGH VOLTAGES.
Building, troubleshooting and testing of these amplifiers should only be

I know this thread is likely going to be locked if people don't keep it objective to the end result of the current situation (not here to talk about the situation, just the impact in tubes and likely on New Sensor, not sure if there are other relevant factories in the region), but it appears most retailers have increases retail prices in the past week AND many are sold out/backordered (with a status TBD) on top of those price increases. I know there are some factory options in other nations, but not sure of the quality, capacity, etc. NOS is not an option for many tubes (or vastly more expensive). Going to be interesting.

JJ has no problems delivering tubes man in EU. I do understand that many people refuses to support russian products.

I am talking in light of literally the past 6 days, not before that. I expect it is too early to tell if their products will be exported (to Europe, US, Canada, etc.) for the time being. I am not sure what restrictions are in place today or might be in the future.

Again just focusing on the realities of the situation and not what people should or should not do.

I use Russian tubes (6C4C) and fortunately I already bought a few. I'm not going to buy from Russia in the current situation, and anyway you can't since the post has been stopped as far as I know. All imports from Russia will be hit, which is totally understandable given the situation.
I ordered some tubes maybe half a day before all this happened and i just got a tracking confirmation today so i think the mail is still going out. How long it'll take for me to get them is a whole other story.

Guess situation will go back to normal one way or another, so supply will eventually restart.
After all, Tea imports from UK DID restart, didn´t they?
German - Japanese - Italian cars too.

That said, price gouging, hoarding, etc. are completely unnecessary, no supplier sells tubes from just arrived, just opened cartons, normal Commercial procurement has a typical time flow, with fresh deliveries having been ordered at least 30 to 60 days before, if not longer, plus they DO have warehouses with more or less stock.

I mean, "one week" has NO real impact, it takes way longer.

COVID has been with us over 2 years, so it definitely had an impact.

EDIT:
It seems that many countries are banning Russian planes from their airspace. I recently purchased some parts but it may have been too late.
Don´t worry, doubt Couriers use Russian flag planes anyway, but in any case, there are hundreds of Air companies , plus Chartered transports plus companies using own planes.
Remember "Cast Away?"
Just pray your plane does not meet an unexpected storm over the Pacific 🙁

Eurotubes.com has been selling JJ for years ..

So where do the “high end boutique options” REALLY come from? The factory has to be somewhere, and there are only a few places it can be. If Eastern Europe and China are both off the table for whatever reason, where does that actually leave you? A tube (transistor or whatever) made in China, bought by a third party, put through strict quality control, relabeled, and marked up 800% is still made in China.

If they made 6L6GC’s in the US they’d be $600 apiece. And somehow I don’t think anyone had vacuum tube factories in mind with Build Back Better, so I wouldn’t hold my breath. It may very well come down to “Pay too much or not at all.” Its ALREADY that way for some semiconductors - try getting a 200 volt 100 amp TO-220 mosfet. Only ones in stock are older varieties that are overpriced by a factor of three. With lead times on the new desirable types that may very well be longer than this war. And ultimately, there WILL be new semiconductor fabs built. Probably NOT another tube factory.
